Homegrown Spring Onion in Milk Cartons
Growing spring onion is relatively easy. You don’t need rocket science to do it.
Chances are some of the onions in your kitchen would have sprouted anyway so all you need to do is place them on the soil to grow further.
As usual, I used milk cartons to grow my greens. This two big onions represents Mummy and Daddy (according to the cheeky Ayden).
The boys planted little onions for their own collection.
We placed the onions next to my baby spinachs so that they won’t feel so lonely.
Within weeks, the onions grew into jungles, towering those spinach. I did not know what to do with them except use it to steam fish and sprinkle over soups so I gave the extras to my neighbour :D

How long can an onion bulb keeps growing spring onions?
I use egg cartons to grow them. ^^
And wow! Your baby spinach is growing well.
Can plant Bombay onions, get giant spring onions kah? I only plant shallots….but they always dry up, top end…and mine’s so so so skinny, not like me.
We have this too! :)
I use the small onions though, not the big ones. Lack of space. Haha.
