Zurich Omni Health – The plan that rewards you for staying healthy

The emergence of a more health-conscious society in Malaysia are well reflected by the growth of wellness establishments within the country such as gyms, weight management centres as well as organic food and beverage operators.

I for one am doing my part in getting my family to eat healthier by planting all of the above organic plants in whatever little space I have at home.

Imagine my delight when Zurich Insurance Malaysia Bhd (ZIMB) launched a medical insurance plan, Zurich Omni Health, a comprehensive medical plan that rewards customers for staying fit and healthy while covering their medical bills. It is the first and only in the market which offers cash back on premiums paid under its no claim bonus (NCB) benefits to give customers more reason to stay fit.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer of ZIMB, Philip Smith, explains the company’s efforts in developing products that inspire and motivate customers to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Zurich Omni Health is a standalone non-participating medical plan that is available to anyone between 30 days and 59 years of age. It is the first, and yes, ONLY medical plan in the market to offer 10% cash back on premiums paid under its No Claims Bonus benefit (to be refunded to the policy holder as a bonus in the following policy year) which gives customers more reasons to stay fit.

Mr Mukesh Dhawan, General Manager, Life Insurance Division said Omni Health is a new approach to health insurance that offers more than what money can buy. It was introduced to encourage customers to observe healthier lifestyles by adopting preventive measure.

Malaysians have been rated the highest among Asian countries for being overweight.

“Obesity and high cholesterol are one of the top two reasons of extra loading of medical premiums in Malaysia as it leads to a lot of health problems and high medical cost,” he said. This product is made in mind for those who want to get better.

“Omni Health also features the Wellness Reward Programme for customers with health setbacks at the point of purchase where they will be placed under a wellness programme with professional advice and guidance for getting better.

“Should their conditions improve at the end of the programme, their insurance premium would be automatically reduced,” he added.

Zurich Omni Health makes it more convenient for their policy holders with the Cashless Facility which makes hospital admission hassle-free. Customers are able to receive instant admission and medical attention in times of emergencies at any Zurich panel hospital upon the display of the medical card.

Talking about panel hospitals or clinics, MiCare MyMed mobile application makes it possible for customers to locate panel hospitals or clinics nearest to them instantly by referring to the up-to-date info in the app. It also enables customers to purchase vaccination at discounted rates through the Health Optimiser feature and track their progress under the Wellness Reward Programme.

Adam C gave a personal sharing session before the launch to speak on his initiative to lead a healthier lifestyle. He is also proud to announce that he has quit smoking and further motivates the audience to choose a healthier living – citing that prevention is better than cure!
