Senjyu @ Bangsar Village II

Over the long weekend we spent most of our time eating. I don’t know. I think it’s a Malaysian thing. We happy, we eat. We bored, we eat. We stress, we eat. We angry, we eat :P As for us, we were not angry nor stressed out but purely wanted to kill time. Since we had so much time in our hands, we drove all the way to Bangsar for some Japanese cuisine.

We went to Senjyu in Bangsar Village II. I tell you, I don’t frequent Bangsar for nothing. It’s only when I have something particular to do like getting a haircut or in this case to eat Japanese that we make our way here.

Senjyu, Bangsar Village II. Parking was an exhorbitant RM8 that evening upon driving home. Crazy! So expensive for just several hours in a super quiet place.

Anyway, let’s see what we had.

Senjyu appetizer

Each of us got this complimentary appetizer before our meal.

Senjyu green tea

We ordered hot green tea to go with our meal. I am not too sure how much this tea is as the receipt is with Darling and he is at work now. Later I check with him and update here okay?

Dining with kids, we always order bento meals as that is usually the fastest and easiest to eat.

Senjyu dinner

The food arrived very quickly after ordering, making me ‘kelam-kabut’ unable to take proper pictures of each and every one of them. But then again, I am supposed to be eating and NOT take pictures am I? But if I don’t take pictures, how to share with you lah?

The cutest part is, each of us ordered our meals ourselves. I told the waitress what I want. Ethan as usual will go with his unagi and Darling told her what he wanted. When the food came, we found out that Darling and I ordered exactly the same thing except his is the full teriyaki bento while mine is the mini one with just additional soup and pickles. This is what I call ‘sehati sejiwa’ (one heart one soul).

senjyu tori teriyaki jyu

My Tori Teriyaki Jyu (RM15.99)

Grilled chicken in sweet sauce served over a bed of steamed Japanese rice. Comes with a bowl of miso soup and pickles.

Senjyu ayden sleeping

I got to eat my meal peacefully as the little one was sleeping then.

Senjyu unagi

Ethan’s Unagi Jyu (RM37.99)

Grilled premium river eel with teriyaki sauce. It seemed that we all had teriyaki that evening. Apa lah..

Senjyu California Maki

We also ordered this California Maki (RM14.99) to share.

Reverse roll filled with avocado, crabstick and sweet omelette coated with flying fish roe. I wish they can be more generous on the roe though :(

Finally let’s take a look at Darling’s bento:

Senjyu Tori Teriyaki Zen

Tori Teriyaki Zen (RM25.99)

About RM10 extra from mine for the additional chawanmushi, salad and also ice-cream. Now that I am typing this, I just realised Darling did not get his ice-cream that evening! Hmph! Where did his ice-cream go? It’s a wonder we can overlook that as that was what Ethan has been eyeing on for from the beginning.

No ice-cream! :(

I woke Ayden up after I was done eating. He ate Darling’s chawanmushi (finished the entire bowl) and half of my rice and chicken.

Senjyu

Overall it was a nice dinner. Service was quick but I still can’t get over the fact that we did not get our ice-cream. Ish…  >_<

After dinner, we went over to Borders to read some books and I saw this. Aww… <3

Ayden sure looks Japanese…under that sign. Wanted to go for japanese over the weekend at our favourite place in town but no parking – illegal parking all over as many people going to the temple close by for Wesak Day or whatever so we had “Korean” instead – post on that coming soon!

Very delicious Japanese dinner! Really sehati sejiwa you and your husband. Aiya, how come at that time did not realise that the ice cream was missing. So sad. :(
