Watermelon Juice
Few weeks ago was extremely hot, right? On scorching hot days, I like to drink watermelon juice. Actually I like to drink any juice as long as they are freshly made. But the one fruit that goes really well with the kids is watermelon. Ethan who doesn’t like to drink fruit juice can still tolerate watermelon juice. He’ll drink at least half a glass.
The best part is it is also one of the easiest juice to make. I always make sure to buy seedless watermelon to make the job easier.
Chill the watermelon in the fridge. Remove the rind and cut the watermelon into chunks.
Drop them into a blender and blend. Because watermelon is 90% water, we don’t need to add ice or water anymore. And because we don’t need to add ice, we don’t need a blender that is able to blend ice. Any ordinary blender will do.
I do not add syrup or anything else into the watermelon juice. It is already sweet as it is.
1/8 of a regular sized watermelon yield the above for Ayden and I to share. A glass to drink immediately and the bottle to bring along to the playground.
Drinking watermelon juice before going out for some sunshine provides a little extra antioxidant protection against ultraviolet light on our skin as watermelon is a powerful antioxidant. The lycopene that gives watermelons the beautiful red color protects our skin from UV damage. It’s no wonder people drink watermelon juice on the beach.

Maybe I can do this. I hate eating watermelon as I hate spitting out the seeds. Ptui! Ptui!!! So gross.
if Ethan doesn’t like fruit juice, i wonder if he likes to eat fruit??
hmmm, i suddenly have a wild idea.. what about blending coconut water with the watermelon?? oooi, surely very refreshing and cooling dei~~
Yes…. its comforting to have sweet and juicy watermelon juices on hot days, especially from Merryn!
Make coconut juice too!! I have been having ice kopi lately….it’s too hot!
I like to drink all sort of fruit juices without adding sugar and ice but I prefer to eat the fruits more. I guess it is easier for children to drink fruit juice than to eat the fruits.
so refreshing, watermelon juice~~
