Cheese Stuffed French Toast
The year end school holiday is here and that means I’ll be doing a whole lot of cooking as I have two constantly hungry boys at home. That also means I will be sharing many simple recipes in the many weeks to come :D
The first meal I prepared for the boys is Cheese Stuffed French Toast for supper. It was after dinner when they got hungry again so I whipped this up in a jiffy. I like to think that it is healthier to eat this than to drive to the mamak for their roti telur lah.
Can you see the cheese oozing out? Ooo-la-la!
Making this is easy. All I need is bread, egg (with a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper), cheese and a drop of oil. You may add milk if you wish.
Two pieces of bread for every single slice of cheese. A large egg is enough to cover 4 pieces of bread.
Heat up a lightly oiled pan. Dip the bread thoroughly in the egg mixture. Coat it on both sides.
Place it on the pan. Grill it for a couple of minutes and turn over. Place a slice of cheese on the cooked side and sandwich it with another french toast. Remove from pan. Serve hot.
Drool! This was the first time I added cheese to my french toast and the boys love it. Ethan kept asking for more and even Ayden can’t stop eating this. I’ve already got request to make this again for breakfast tomorrow :D
cheese adds yumminess to everything! hehe
So easy, and so delicious!
I could smell the fragrant from your kitchen! I love French toasts! Long time did not make it.
Sinful~~
Mmm, simply yummy! Looks easy to make~
Delicious! More suitable for growing children than full grown people with slowing metabolism, hahaha! More friendly for the environment since you did not drive out to eat but cook at home.
Eeeeee…..so fatty! DId you eat it ? Better not but ok for your boys! Contains lots of nutrients for them but errr…. not for you. :P
I like making my own melted cheese sandwich too! The kids like the individually wrapped singles “cheese” but to me that’s not cheese (it’s just a dairy product and France doesn’t allow that to be called “cheese”). There’s a lot of other affordable real imported cheeses from New Zealand here too!
Some can be very strong flavored though so the kids don’t like the cheese I buy and neither does my better half so I end up eating it myself. Haha!
Ok…remind me of Flaming Melt at KD. But since you can make it so delicious, please ring me the next time to heat up the wok. Enough time for me to cycle to your house to grab some cheese french toast.**tambah sikit gula boleh?**hahah
**the next time you heat up**hehhe
Fantastic french toast stuffed with cheese. I would love to let my girls try this, if they like cheese, but they don’t.
