Fascination with Dried Leaves
Ever since Ayden started walking, he won’t want me to carry him in the playground anymore. He’ll want to explore and touch every single thing. I find it cute, exactly like Ethan. I brought Ethan to the playground every day too when he was as young as Ayden and continued until this year when he started school in the evening session so he doesn’t have time to go to the playground during weekdays anymore. Pity that big boy of mine…
Anyway back to Ayden. He has this strange fascination with dried leaves. The first thing he does each time we reach the playground is to grab hold of a leaf on each hand and continues walking around with them.
Seriously he’ll bring them home! If I take those leaves away from him he’ll be extremely unhappy and will run to get another! There’s nothing I can do to take them away until we are back home and he’ll put them away nicely in one of my pots.
See? Even if I distract him with the slide also he’ll still be holding on to those leaves. I bring him on the swing also he won’t let go. I sing “Let It Go! Let It Go” also won’t work. So I have no choice but to let him bring those leaves home and fill up my pot. I don’t understand his fascination with dried leaves but I do hope that it is just a phase that he’ll outgrow soon…

Careful!!!! Sometimes got caterpillar, stuck to the bottom of the leaves. Ulat bulu….must use the dead leaves to rub out the “hair” stuck to the hand, not a nice experience.
Yikes that’s scary! Ok will look out for them next time. Thank you for the alert.
Hahha …so cute. Perhaps he likes the dried leaves but yes , be careful of insects.
Yes I’ll be careful with insects esp red ants. Lots of them in the playground :(
Ayden: “How come got leaves on the floor, and how come it is brown color one? I thought leaves grow on trees and are green color one. These leaves are special! I’m bring them home with me!”
(at least this is what I imagine Ayden is thinking) :D
Wah u can read Ayden’s mind ah? Not bad… :P
Hahaha I guess it’s probably the crisp sound of the leaves!
Maybe. Haha :D
Just a phase. Once he is bored with it, he will go and hunt for another thing. Watch out! ^^
Hopefully ‘another thing’ wont be catterpillars or the likes of it! @_@
Ayden so cute! Would like to see the precious pot of leaves that ayden accumulate. Next time, ask him pick flowers, so his mum can enjoy at home =p
Haha. Unfirtunately there isnt any beautiful flowers in the playground :(
haha, he hinted you to bring him to some place with autumn where he can have fallen leaves everywhere he goes lah~~
Wah seh! How come he knows of Autumn eh? Pandai nye my anak :D
Will he cry if you empty the pot and he does not see dried leaves in the pot anymore?
Mun, I’m not too sure as I havent empty that pot yet. Never thought of it that way. Come to think of it, what if he cries.. Aiyo…
He is so cute.
He just finds those dry leaves interesting at this moment.
Let him explore everything naturally.
luckily he didn’t put into his mouth, very well-trained!
