Planning for Ayden’s First Birthday Bash
Did I tell you that Ayden’s birthday is less than a month away? We’ll be celebrating his birthday at my parent’s place in Malacca as it will be such a hassle to expect my parents, uncles and aunts to travel up to KL just for a baby’s birthday and without them, the party will be such a bore and quite meaningless. Furthermore, I’ll get the much needed help in Malacca because here, I am all alone.
It will be just a simple makan-makan. Not planning anything grand but for photography sake, I made some decorations to get into the birthday mood. Ayden loves reading books on animals so I made some animals out of coloured craft foams.
DIY Animal foams
I thought that they are pretty cute and happily Whatsapp a picture to my niece who’s in Malacca right now so she can show it to my mom. The first question my mom asked was, “Where are you going to place these animals?”. When I told her that I’m planning to stick them onto the wall, she suggested for me to just paste some small ones as she’s afraid the double-sided tapes will leave a sticky residue on her wall, dirtying them :(
Well, I’m no expert in walls and tapes so I can’t guarantee that I won’t dirty her wall. I’d rather not take the risk as it is her house and it’s always good to respect that. But I won’t let that damper my plan. I’ll think of another way to get these cheerful cuties to join our party.
Maybe you, my lovely readers can help me. Do you have any ideas how I can include these animals without sticking them onto the wall? Forget Blue tack or whatsoever. I’m not sticking them onto the walls, ever. I don’t want to create a mess on such a happy occassion. I thought of having a cloth hung against the wall and stick these cuties onto the cloth but am not too sure if they’ll hold well. What do you think?
Update:
Called my Mom and guess what? She said I CAN stick them onto the wall after all as long as I don’t use black double-sided tape. I’ve got with me white tapes so YEAY! Problem SOLVED! *continues making more animal foams*
Cute! Got invite me or not?
Do a dessert table with a backdrop…hang a coloured cloth(maybe green or blue) as the backdrop and stick those animals on it and u can even make Ayden’s name (maybe use paper plates for each letters of his name)
I love the whale…she is so cute! I’m thinking it’s a she
How big are the animals? If not big then can stick them on sticks like lollipops and put the sticks into vase or poke the sticks into the cake or cupcakes.
Or you can string the together like a banner and tie them across the door way.
My children birthday also coming soon, for the pass years we had been having birthday party at home, but maybe this year want to do something outside, sigh…still not start planning part yet.
Wah …so fast coming to 1 year !! Hmmm.. stick on everyone’s face ? 1 each.
How about tying them onto string in a row and tie the ends onto something, said sticks, chairs etc? No need stick onto wall.
The animals you made is so cute…
Saja buat muka kesian here and made ur mom feel guilty. ..pandai
