Wakudoki Your Way to Tokyo
Reminiscing the time Darling San and I in Japan years ago.
Kon’nichiwa. It means ‘hello’ in case you don’t know. Today, I’m feeling Japanese so we are going to learn a couple of Japanese words ^_^
Repeat after me, “Waku-Waku”
VERY GOOD!
Now say, “Doki-Doki”
Wow excellent people I have here. I’m impressed! Do you know what you just say? LoL!
Let me enlighten you. ‘Waku-Waku’ is a term in Japanese used to describe when your heart is pumping with joy and you can’t sit still. ‘Doki-Doki’ is Japanese for the sound of your heartbeat. Put them together and we get ‘Wakudoki’ the joy you feel when your heart is pumping with excitement!
This is Ayden feeling all Wakudoki.
Are you having the Wakudoki feeling yet after seeing Ayden dance? Haha. Don’t mind me, I’m having the Wakudoki fever. It all started when I was browsing YouTube and Ayden accidentally pressed dunno what and a nice dance video popped out.
Ayden was fascinated by the dance moves and got glued to the video.
You know how at the end of any video there will be selection of other videos to watch? I spotted and watched this:
Nice right their dance moves? Well, I found out that Toyota has kicked off an interesting campaign for the young. In this campaign, there’s a dance competition. A Wakudoki Dance Contest to be exact.
The “Wakudoki” Dance Contest
It’s a very simple competition. Everyone can participate as anybody can do the Wakudoki. You will be able to try the Wakudoki dance by following the original music either on the website using web cam or smartphone application (iOS and Android).
Animated silhouette guide of the Wakudoki dance moves.
If you are just like me, a beginner when it comes to dancing, fret not as there is a “Beginner mode” and tutorial video. You’ll be guided to do the Wakudoki dance simply by following an animated silhouette of the dance moves.

But I know many of you out there are real dance experts so you can just opt for the “Expert Mode” where there will be no guide to guide you. You’ll be free to Wakudoki YOUR way!
There are two rounds to this contest. Each round, the participant whose video gets the highest number of views wins “Beats by Dr. Dre” earphones. There will be one winner from each country.
Among all the posted videos, the most remarkable dance wins a trip for two to Tokyo. ONE grand prize winner per country. The 1st round of this contest closes on the morning of 25 August 2014 so hurry up and submit your Wakudoki dance videos!
Now you’ll have to excuse me as I need to practice my Wakudoki dance. Any of you wants to join me and be my kalafei in the recording of my video? ^_^
Wah ….you also wakudoki ! Btw , you look so kawaii and innocent in that kimono.
You too? Everyone’s blogging about this. Go, go and join. Good luck…and if you win, take me along,. Hehehehehehe!!!!
