Loh Han Guo Recipe
Loh Han Guo herbal tea is a great thirst quencher especially during the super hot days. Loh Han Guo also known as Buddha’s fruit or Monk’s fruit helps to nourish the lungs, promotes secretion of body fluids, relieves cough and reduces phlegm.
It’s super simple to boil this delicious, refreshing tea at home. It doesn’t take too much of my time either.
I used minimal ingredients (Loh Han Guo, dried longans and winter melon strips) for the tea. Of course you may add in dried persimmons or any other items that suit your fancy.
1) Crack open the loh han guo fruit. I do this by wrapping it with a cloth and knock it using a pestle.
2) Boil water in a pot. Throw all ingredients in and simmer for at least half an hour. I like to simmer on very low heat for at least an hour.
3) Serve warm or chilled.
No need to add sugar as luo han guo is a sweet fruit. Coupled with dried longans and winter melon strips, this can be really sweet. You may want to cut down the amount of longan and winter melon if you don’t have a sweet tooth.
Super delicious and refreshing Loh Han Guo drink on a hot, hot day :)
