Training chopsticks for kids

Chopsticks. How many of you know how to use it? I did not learn how to use a pair of chopsticks until I was in my Secondary school. These days I love using chopsticks when eating noodles. Darling on the other hand is more ‘English’ as he uses fork and spoon to eat noodles @_@

Ethan has always admired me using the chopsticks and requested to learn using it. I don’t know how to teach him how to use it. I tried with the normal chopsticks but he can’t even grab it nicely.

The other day, we were window shopping in Daiso when we saw this. Honestly, there is no such thing as window shopping in Daiso as each and every time we’ll always end up buying something!
Training Chopsticks from Daiso

We bought this training chopstick for RM5.

Ethan requested for spaghetti immediately when we got home so that he can cuba, try, test his chopstick!

He managed to grab the noodles. I told him it’s not right to eat them sideways ala satay style.

So he tried eating this way. He eventually got the hang of it and felt very proud now that he is officially a CHINESE eating with chopstick! >_<

One of Ethan’s proudest moment – eating using the chopstick. Now, now .. let’s see you using the normal chopstick. You think you can kah, sayang

I remember buying these for my niece and nephew. The girl eats real slow with it and the boy just couldn’t be bothered to…..too slow for his stomach. He needs to eat like the dinasour. So he gave up after a while. And I got them the ones with cartoon and all the cute faces.

My two girls wanted to eat with chopsticks when they were very small. I didn’t teach them specifically. They just learned the skill on their own. But I find this training chopstick from Daiso is kind of useful.,

I also want to teach my girls how to use chopsticks in the right way too, at the moment they use chopsticks in their own ways which the method is not right. I have bought 2 sets of training chopsticks, will let the use once I received them.

It is lovely seeing Ethan using chopsticks… My son learnt using chopstick from about the same kind of training chopstick for kids. My self I don’t have any idea how to teach Calvin. Right now, my son able to use normal chopstick on his own….
