Simple donut bento for kids

A very quick update. I made an extremely simple donut bento for Ethan today. His snack break time is only 10 minutes so he has very limited time to eat. That’s also the reason why his lunch box is very simple with minimal food in it.

Bread donut bento

1) Spread peanut butter/chocolate or any spread of your choice on a piece of bread.

2) Place another piece of bread on it.

3) Use a donut cutter to cut the bread.

4) Spread condensed milk on the top layer of the donut and sprinkle some colored sugar rice.

Quick and simple but guess what? It doesn’t taste a little bit like DONUT at all! :P

I’d rather have fried rice, noodles, mihun…stuff like that instead. So little, not enough lah…

10 mins, not enough time to eat. I usually let him eat complete breakfast before going to school. This is just his snack :)

  • //

    Nice! Did Ethan like it?

    • //

It’s sweet! So yeah, he likes it! I don’t however… haha.

  • //

I also made this before. My kids love it. Not too sweet as compared to the Big Apple donuts :). Hmmm…probably I should make this again.

    • //

Really? I must go dig your old posts! Yours must be so much nicer than mine *shy*

  • //

Looks nice..but personally I do not like donuts due to their extreme sweetness. I would go for fruits instead which is much more healthy for a snack.

    • //

But my Ethan doesnt take fruits :(

  • //

Wow, this is simple and nice. You are very good in making bentos now. I didn’t prepare any bento for my son, cos the kindergarten is provided him with RM20/mth.

Maybe next year when he is Std 1, i might be preparing this for him.

    • //

Wow here we have to pay RM180 half yearly but I did not as I’m not too confident on the hygiene and quality of canteen food

      • //

True also. Rather dun pay and prepared for him every morning.

  • //

I like the donut bread idea. *_^

  • //

Works fine for kids but it will be a little bit too sweet for weight-watchers like us :(

    • //

Hence the title ‘donut bento for KIDS’ :P

  • //

Nice idea, I like this donut bento very much.

  • //

    looks really appetizing! :D

  • //

The thought of ants frolicking in the sweetened milk give me the heebejeebes

  • //

Very simple and cute idea. He doesn’t take fruits but he takes cucumber?

  • //

that cucumber is such a turn off vegetables for me XD

  • //

After he take a bite, he’ll asked, why no doughnut taste or not? hahahahaha~~

  • //

haha! so cute and easy to make ehh!! nice sharing! :D

  • //

Oh what a cute donut! Children will love it! Me? I want a real donut!! Haha!!

  • //

Can Dylan have it too?! ;)

  • //

Mmm…condensed milk! I love the effort you put into presentation in all of your bento boxes Merryn! :D

  • //
