1 Utama’s Chinese New Year decor

This year, we’ve been preoccupied with AngPow lantern making sessions that we don’t have much time to mall hop to check out their beautiful decor.

We finally stepped foot in 1 Utama today to check out their ‘Golden Street’.

One Utama's Chinese New Year decoration

The entire Centre Court has been converted into a China Town (actually the streets of Hong Kong)

Can you believe that this is actually in a mall?

Look at those peanut tins..

Complete with traffic light and all, it’s hustling and bustling right here in 1 Utama!

Of all these years, 1 Utama never disappoint me with their Chinese New Year decoration & events.

1 Utama generally fares well throughout any festival but I remember once or twice I was disapointed.

Ya, I guess you wrote before you were like disappointed with the Underwater Christmas deco in 2011, and was almost disappointed with the same underwater theme of last year’s CNY, until they put up a dragon there ;)

Well, of all the CNY deco throughout these years, my most favorite is still the 2010 “Celebrating Paws-perity” featuring the Maneki Neko Lucky Cats!

          Oops! Whoa you remember!

I love the Lucky Cats too and yes, the dragon was a surprise! I was too early to judge :P

As for Xmas, I remember the gigantic Toy Soldier many years ago. That was pretty awesome!

wow! so beautiful! I never been to kl during Cny, so no chance to witness all these nice decors.

    • //

You don’t have to be here during CNY, you can come BEFORE CNY :P

  • //

    A simple CNY decorations..

  • //

The past 2 weeks was still empty and now it becomes a hustle and bustle city filled with Tong Tong Chiang mood.

  • //

Ahhhh!!! This is nice! Much nicer than Tokyo Street. If only I could drop by…

  • //

I not yet got time to walk around the ‘china’ street.. :)

  • //

    Love the old street feel!

  • //

Very authentic china town feel….Love this. Hope I can go to visit this at KL soon!

  • //

Impressive! It’s like walking down Chinatown! I want to get the CNY-feel in KL, too!

  • //

Now this is something worth visiting just for the decor! :O So niceeeee. At least no more same red tanglungs and blooming flowers like other malls did hehe

  • //

resembled Hong Kong’s street scene :)
