DIY Packed Lunch
Ethan and I were in Jusco the other day when a promoter approaches us with this Ayam Brand Ready-To-Eat Sardines. She was promoting the two new flavours – Spring Water and Teriyaki Sauce. The promoter told me (while looking at Ethan), “Mam, this Ready-To-Eat sardines contain no added MSG and no preservatives! No need to cook, just open and serve!” Hah! The thing about grocery shopping with a kid is that the little monster would always want to buy everything and anything especially after sampling the food! -.-
So I ended up buying not one, not two but the ENTIRE range of Ready-To-Eat Sardines since we are such big fan of sardine. By the way, do you know that sardines are rich in Omega-3, the essential fatty acids that is needed by our body to keep healthy? Well, NOW you know! :P
We bought them for RM4.20 each in Jusco. Not too sure about the price in hypermarkets though.
Ethan pestered me to let him bring the sardine to school for his lunch but I brushed him off saying that I’m always too busy in the mornings to prepare such complete meal! I usually just let him bring cereals to school. But he won’t let it go and promised to prepare the lunch box himself! I can’t say NO to that, can I? I promised to cook the rice and the rest is up to him.
Today, he’ll have his drum lessons after his Mandarin class so I let him pack the sardine lunch to eat in between. He woke up eagerly in the morning to do this:
Super duper easy! He got super excited with his lunch box as it was his first time packing his own lunch.
As soon as his Mandarin class ends, he quickly took out his lunch box and start nom nom-ing. He said he was thinking about his packed lunch the entire time during his class! >_<
3 pieces of sardines and a bowl full of rice. I wonder if he can finish all that by himself.
I was drooling looking at HIM eat! =.= I should pack my own lunch too next time :(
His favourite part – the edible bones! When I was a kid, I used to fight with my siblings for that precious part! LoL!
WoW! Habis jugak! Must be really delicious!
Hah! Now only he is willing to share!
This Ready-To-Eat Sardines are really handy. No need to reheat or anything. Just buy, kopek open and eat! I can now spend more time blogging since I don’t need to cook and let my honey bunnies eat sardines for lunch! Heh! :P
oh cool.. it will be nice to have that since I pack lunch almost everyday.. hehehe..
Nice! It would certainly go well with my bread story. Haha! :)
can I HAVE SOME TOO? XD XD
Wah so easy he can prepare his own food!! Awesome!
Well the promoter was in luck that day cause managed to promote the food.
Ethan good boy, packed the lunch himself ;)
I wonder how a canned food can have no preservatives.
He’ll grow to hate camping cause he’ll be sick of can foods by then HAHAha
Ethan so clever! <3 Reading this makes me hungry!!
Wah, he really can eat wor, 3pcs of sardine + a bowl of rice!
So clever boy. He seems to be able to eat a lot wor…Good appetite is good.
Hehe…I like the bones too!
Wah… Prepared his own meal and eat all by himself…. Senang-lah mummy.. :)
I agree with Choi Yen. And Ethan is really cute. ^^
Wah… must be very delicious! No need to heat it up meh?
I shall buy for my girls to mix it themselves like Ethan. If I were to mix for them, they wouldn’t eat.
Ethan ate the whole can of sardines all by himself? Wow!! You are right, I drooled… I love sardines too. I’ve never eaten them in any other flavours except tomato sauce… would love to try these too.
