Pepper Lunch Express

The other day after having a hearty meal in KL, we went to 1 Utama to get something. An hour later Ethan is hungry again. We went to Food Republic. Since Darling and I are still not hungry, we ordered only ONE meal for Ethan alone. I love the chicken rice there but today we felt like trying out something new. I ordered the Salmon Pepper Rice from Pepper Lunch Express.

I requested for them to omit the black pepper as Ethan is not fond of that. I saw them weighing the salmon before adding them onto the hot plate.

Ethan’s Salmon Pepper Rice (RM12.90)

There must be something in my expression that made the cashier there taking his own sweet time to explain to me how to eat this meal. He told me that the hot plate is really HOT. And I should mix the rice thoroughly before adding the sauce. And he warned me again that the rice will be very HOT! AND he told me again NOT to touch the HOT PLATE. Oooooookay, NOW I know how BLUR I look when I am ordering food that he had to remind me like a little girl there >_<

So that was exactly what I did. Mix the rice well with the delicious butter hidden inside. Then add sauce. After all that warning from the cashier I’d think that I’ll know better but I tell you, the rice is really HOT! The corn is even HOTTER! The salmon cooks in an instant and it took forever to cool the rice before Ethan can consume it -.-

While waiting for the rice to cool down, Ethan enjoyed the tofu soup.

RM13.67 after tax. Will I order this for Ethan again? I doubt as it is too much hassle to cool the rice UNLESS it is ME who is eating it and not Ethan :D

Would like to try it if I’m not in a rush & I haven’t been to Food Republic @ 1U before >.<

After the salmon is cooked and mixed with sauce, transfer to big flat plastic plate, distribute the rice all over the plate. It will cool much faster :)

Read this at Fish’s blog before. Look quite interesting.

Wah, I guess it will take some time for the rice to cool down. Definately, not for hungry kids.
