Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash System

*48 hours sticky post. Scroll down for latest entry*

How do you get kids to like to wash their hands? Here in my Studio, the kids can get really messy while painting.

I always tell them to wash their hands after painting but what they always do when they go to the washroom is they will get their hands wet, press onto the hand-wash pump and more often than not, I will hear a loud thud. The hand-wash bottle fell onto the cold floor!

I guess kids can be pretty clumsy when it comes to handling the hand-wash pump. So what I got now is the kids going into the washroom, wetting their hands and emerged wetter but not any cleaner :(

Not too long ago I was in Jusco grocery shopping when I spotted something very unique. It is an automatic hand-wash dispenser that dispenses soap without the need for us to press on the pump or even touch it. It is called No-Touch Hand Wash by Dettol and is battery operated. Since I wasn’t too sure how well this will work, I bought only ONE. It cost me less than RM20 I think.

I brought it to the Studio and told the kids that I have something ‘magical’ in the washroom. I told them that they now no longer need to pump out the hand-wash liquid. All they needed to do was to place their hands in front of the No-Touch hand wash dispenser and it will dispense the right amount of soap to keep their hands clean.

Needless to say, they got pretty excited! They quickly did their painting and excitedly went to wash their hands.

They couldn’t believe how efficient the No-Touch dispenser is! One of the girl even said, “I doubt soap will come out of this if I don’t touch it” but guess what? She was proven WRONG! :D

Just by placing your hand in front of the dispenser, liquid soap is being dispensed without the need to even touch it. How cool is that?

The kids find it very fascinating and has been washing their hands extra frequent now -.-

Ethan loves it so much that he bugs me to get this for our home too. So we went to Jusco again recently to get more of this.

Much to our delight, Dettol has come out with limited edition of the No-Touch Hand Wash System with decorative stickers. It features two cute cartoon characters – Flippy the Penguin & Hoofy the Zebra. Lagi-lah suka si Ethan!

The limited edition dispenser comes with decorative stickers. Take a look at how cute the dispenser is after being decorated with Hoofy the Zebra!

Ethan is happy that the dispenser at home is cuter than the one we have in the Studio!

Watch this video of how happy Ethan is using the convenient No-Touch Hand Wash system.

That day we bought TWO kan because I saw so cute ONE Zebra and ONE Penguin so we sapu-ed both. I opened the Zebra and placed it in the kitchen. Ethan requested to open the Penguin also but I say CANNOT! Wait until the Zebra habis then can use the Penguin. What I did not realised is that…

The Penguin comes with a different scent – Green Tea & Ginger while the Zebra is the Original Dettol scent until Ethan points it out to me. Oooooooo… like that how? MUST open jugak the Penguin because I can’t wait to smell if the Green Tea & Ginger or the Original is nicer!

Ethan super love pasting the stickers onto the dispenser! :D

I love the Green Tea & Ginger scent. It’s such a refreshing change from the original Dettol scent but Ethan prefers the Original so… I use Flippy the Penguin while Ethan uses Hoofy the Zebra-lah. The Daddy uses both! Hehe…

Sold at RM19.90 each, it comes with the usual dispenser, hand wash refill, 4 x AA batteries and special edition decorative sticker and Flippy & Hoofy Online Contest scratch card.

Scratch the card to reveal a unique code and enter it online to gain extra 10,000 points!

Flippy and Hoofy’s Clean Quest Contest is a Facebook game launched by Dettol in conjunction with the release of the limited edition Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash featuring two cute cartoon character – Flippy the Penguin & Hoofy the Zebra.

To participate, players have to navigate his character across an enemy-filled landscape – earning points by surviving in the game as long as possible and avoiding contact with bacteria by jumping over them to keep his Filth Meter level down.

The Contest will run for six (6) weeks from 00:00 GMT+08:00 on 16th February 2012 to 23:59: GMT+08:00 on 31st March 2012. Each week, the Participant who scores the highest points of the week will be the Weekly Winner. The Participant who scores the highest points throughout the Contest Period will be the Grand Prize Winner.

LIKE their fan page here to participate in the contest to win attractive weekly prizes namely the iPad2. But for me, the Sunway Lagoon entry tickets are enough to make me and Ethan happy! :D

What is BEST about the game is how we can use our voice to navigate the characters. Alternatively you can just use the space bar to make them jump! Ethan loves the game, shouting JUMP whenever Flippy or Hoofy is approaching bacteria!

Here’s a video of Ethan playing the game. He uses the spacebar to make the characters jump as THIS PC of mine is not connected to the mic unlike the laptop which the Daddy took to work dy…

I bet the kids in the Studio will like THIS! Kids are game for anything cute! Hehe…

    Hi,

Could you advice where I can find the automatic dispenser. I have tried two Jusco stores and 2 Aeon BIG store, but I can’t see any. Appreciated if you could point me to some store.

    Thanks,
    Pushpraj

      Hi Pushpraj,

You might want to try AEON (Jusco) instead?
