It was a lovely weekday and my friends and I met up for lunch. Life is great for non-working moms eh? :D

It was after 2pm when we arrived so you can imagine how famished we were. Without further ado, we proceeded with lunch. Lunch was pre-ordered (thank goodness) so food came in rather quickly :D

Braised Shark’s Fins Soup with Crab Meat

We started off with a bowl of braised shark’s fins soup with crab meat. It was sinfully thick. Ethan could not finish the entire portion and happily I helped him clear his bowl :D

Steamed Fresh Water Prawn

Up next was the Steamed Fresh Water Prawn (half). Each prawn that was served to us came with a huge portion of prawn roe! It made us wonder how did they managed to get all the prawns with roe in it? Anyway, it is a good thing so I don’t bother to question it much. The head has always been my favourite part and when filled with roe, yummeh! Forget about cholesterol and all, I just want to enjoy my lunch for today!

Crispy Roasted Satin Chicken

By the time the next dish came, Crispy Roasted Satin Chicken, I kinda regret ordering TWO sets meant for Ethan and I. I thought I should have just bought ONE set and share with Ethan since he is not so much a fowl fan. He’s more of a fish person and I can imagine having to finish HIS portion of this chicken @[email protected]

But surprise, surprise! Ethan loves this baby chick! Well, I dunno if it IS baby chick or not but it certainly looks like one and the texture is super tender that one of my friends joked that we can even eat the bones! First time in my life I see Ethan eat so much chicken meat!

Stir-fried Assorted Vegetables with Garlic

When this dish came, both Ethan and I were smiling gleefully. We both love veges and the broccoli and lotus root look so good, it tasted even better! Ethan walloped his entire portion while I finished mine. Four dishes down and I’m glad that I bought TWO sets! No wastage as yet :D

Chinese Herbal Jelly

When they served the last dish, the Chinese Herbal Jelly or better known as Gui Ling Gao, a friend of mine made a face as she dislikes Gui Ling Gao! She says it is bitter and all and just refused to touch that. I took a spoonful and surprisingly, that was the BEST herbal jelly I’ve ever eaten. Like seriously!! I dunno if Ethan will like it though as I fed him Gui Ling Gao some time ago and he disliked it. Nevertheless, I gave him try a small portion…

Guess what? He loves it! I was wishing that he won’t finish his portion so I can have more but, he finished everything :(

But good news awaits. My friend still refused to touch her Gui Ling Gao even though we were raving about it and without shy, shy, I offered to finish it off for her :D

So that was our hearty lunch. A wholesome meal, a great time catching up and what’s best is the bill did not burn the pocket of us NON-working mothers as we grabbed this deal from here. It was my first time dining using coupons and what can I say? At RM28.80 for the above set meal, I’m simply loving it!
