Sands SkyPark, Marina Bay Singapore
One of the MUST go places in Singapore is the Sands SkyPark, Marina Bay. Marina Bay Sands, the world’s most expensive hotel, was officially opened in June 2010. Designed by the renowned architect Moshe Safdie, the three-towered hotel has over 2500 rooms, a casino, an indoor canal and a museum among other grand attractions. But the highlight of this luxury resort is its infinity pool on the roof of the boat-shaped ‘SkyPark’ perched atop the three towers, measuring longer than the Eiffel tower laid down.
We got a great view of it from our hotel and it has been calling us to go visit it from the day we saw it! On our 3rd day in Singapore, we finally found the time to walk over to the Sands SkyPark.
Taking a leisurely stroll from the our hotel Marina Mandarin to the SkyPark
Ethan trying his hand in fishing.
On our way there, we can already see many people up there! Can’t wait already!
Walk, walk, walk…
Here we are! Marina Bay Sands SkyPark!
But… still need to queue. Looking at the queue made my heart stopped for a moment. It was SO long! But thank goodness the queue moves very fast. We did not have to wait for long…
Tah-dah! Our tickets! SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands Singapore!
S$20 per adult and S$14 for kids above 2 years old
We were given an audio guide to guide us on what to look for up there..
Level 56 – SkyPark. I’ve never been anywhere SO high before!
Ethan listening to the Audio Guide :D
After listening he went to look for the Singapore Flyer.. Cool!
There baby, found the Singapore Flyer! The view was breathtaking!
We can also see the Merlion from up there
Ethan and Darling enjoying the view
Sunset in SkyPark. Magnificent! Darling, Ethan and I enjoyed every moment up in the SkyPark looking down. The view was just.. PRICELESS! I can’t describe it in words! My English is not that powerful!
Madonna’s infamous BRA! But after googling, I found out that those are actually The Esplanade , theatres on the bay, Singapore :P *blush*
Let’s watch this short video of the view taken by me.. :D
Very powerful eh my zoom? Hahaha.. can zoom to the Merlion lagi. I thought that the view was marvellous until I saw the night view! Awesome! Later, I’ll let you see the night view :D
The Infinity Pool – is one of the world’s largest outdoor pools at three times the length of an Olympic pool and 55 storeys high. The pool creates an illusion of the water extending to the horizon while in reality, the water spills over the edge into a catchment below and is then pumped back into the pool. It has two circulation systems, with the first filtering and heating the water in the main pool and the other, filtering the water in the catch basin and returning it to the upper pool.
Guests having their picture taken in the Infinity Pool
I oso want to have my photo taken at the Infinity Pool :D
You know why Ethan was smiling happily in this picture? Look at the arrow.. View the close up below..
Ethan told me that those are GIGANTIC chicken soup boiling! Hahaha… Jacuzzi~lah sayang!!!! Did I tell you my son is a genius? LoL… Chicken soup!… *slap forehead*
The light bite above costs S$14. Not bad, not bad at all. I expected the food there to be more costly, but this is OK!
Having a great snack with a greater view! Life is a BLISS! We couldn’t ask for more :D
Every photographer’s haven
Soaking in the best panoramic view ever!
Watch this video for the night view of Singapore!
In case you are wondering why the video is so shaky, the reason is we are not allowed to bring in any professional photography equipment up there on the Sands SkyPark. That means NO tripod or whatsoever! I tried using my hand as a tripod but it proved to be extremely difficult because it was EXTREMELY windy up there! You want to know how windy it can get? Watch this very short video of the WIND!!!
If you are wearing wig, please make sure you GLUE it onto your head or else I guarantee you it will fly away! It is also NOT recommended to be wearing skirts up there or you’ll be doing a Marilyn Monroe! :D
There’s LIVE band to entertain you too..
Remember the Infinity Pool? Look at the left of this pic. This is the other side of the Infinity Pool :)
Ku De Ta – You need to make prior reservation if you want to dine here
The Infinity Pool at night. Simply amazing.
You know what Ethan did the whole time we were up there? Watch this video of how my two Darlings keeping each other entertained :D
All good things must come to an end. After spending the entire evening watching sunset until night time, it’s time to bid farewell to the Sands SkyPark
The buttons in the elevator
Before we leave, we almost forget to collect Ethan’s stroller! hehe… Another great day in Singapore :)
