Thomas & Friends Journey Beyond Sodor!

Thomas and Friends has invaded Sunway Pyramid and I brought the boys there today to join Thomas on his journey beyond Sodor! Here’s a video of the activities the boys participated in during their adventures with Thomas & Friends: Ethan and Ayden got to ride on Thomas around the mall.  They also went on a Space adventure.  Slide into ‘shark infested’ ocean.  Sharks are friends, not food. Now let’s tell the shark that these boys are […]

Fun time for the boys

This is a delayed post of the recent week-long school holidays. I only got the time to blog about it today as I wasn’t feeling well the past week.  Kids these days are very lucky. Malls in major cities especially the Klang Valley will always have some fun activities for them during the school holidays and these activities are usually complimentary.  After we got back from Penang, we brought the kids to 1 Utama to enjoy […]

Penang’s Latest Children Attraction: Dino Gym @ The TOP, KOMTAR

During the recent school holidays, we made a trip up to Penang. One of the reason we went up is to visit the new Jurassic Research Center at The TOP, KOMTAR. The boys love it there as they got to see their favourite dinosaurs come ‘alive’. Imagine seeing dinosaurs in your books up close and roaring in front of you. That was what they got during our visit there. You can read all about it […]

Bake with Ethan AND Ayden: Rice Cooker Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe

I’ve shared this super simple yet extremely delicious moist chocolate cake recipe back in 2015. This cake requires no mixer and bakes perfectly in the rice cooker. During the recent school holidays, I got the boys to bake this favourite cake of theirs themselves. Ingredients: 180g Salted Butter 180g Brown Sugar 100ml Full Cream Milk (I used Fresh Milk instead) 2 Eggs (lightly beaten) 100g Self-Raising Flour 1/2 tsp Baking Soda 50g Cocoa Powder Method: 1) Add […]

Cook with Ayden AND Ethan: Roti Telur Serunding Ayam

It has been over a month after Chinese New Year and we still have leftover chicken floss. How? Make our favourite French Toast with Chicken Floss of course. The boys always look forward for me to make them this treat after every Chinese New Year but I am not going to make it for them this year because they are going to make it themselves  Ingredients : 1) Chicken Floss 2) Egg 3) Bread 4) […]

Cook with Ethan: Bendi Goreng Bawang Belacan

After all the cooking videos I did for Ayden, I think it is only fair to have one for Ethan too. That boy has been so occupied with school, homework, co-coriculum and more that I hardly have time to speak to him on weekdays  Just a blink of an eye, Ethan is already 9 going to be 10 this year. He is growing up fast before my very eyes so I better take more pictures […]

How Cosmotots Helps Ethan Build a Stronger Foundation in English

It’s the school holidays and since I have a little more time to spare, I would like to share an insight of Ethan’s journey in improving his grasp on English. I don’t speak, write nor read Chinese so the only language I use at home with the kids is English with a mixture of Bahasa (as I am after all a Peranakan Nyonya). I thought he would not fare too well in the Chinese language […]

Drum with Ethan: Ethan’s Performance at Sunway Giza mall

Today’s agenda is having Ethan perform at Sunway Giza for a musical concert. He performed two Grade 6 exam pieces in front of an audience. A week ago I suggested for Ethan to ditch the book and play by ear as I find it weird to see a drummer playing with a book in front of him. Today, he proves to me that he is able to do that – playing without his exam book  […]

His Friend’s Birthday

Ethan attended his classmate’s birthday party last Saturday. It was a great start to the school holidays.  This is the second birthday party he attended this year. It was held in the evening at a condo, by the poolside so we joined him there.  The first birthday party Ethan attended this year was held during the day at a KFC outlet so we just dropped him there and came to pick him up later.  I am […]

Ethan’s Update

Hi all, do you remember Ethan? LoL. I know I have not been updating much about him these days as he has been very busy with school stuffs and activities. He goes to school early in the morning, comes home in the afternoon for lunch. Then up to his room for homework, coming down for tea and then off to the playground for an hour or two of football with the neighbourhood kids. He also […]

Taekwondo with Ethan

Ethan participated in his school’s talent night last Sunday. The event is supposedly to start at 7pm but the children were told to be at school by 4.30pm. Parents were not allowed to be around. The gate only opened to parents/public at 6pm. We wanted to send Ethan to school later but this boy was afraid his teacher may not like it and insisted to be there by 4.30pm. The children were served fried rice […]

He went to school on Monday and school is off on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is back to school on Friday tomorrow.  Ethan went for a school excursion on Wednesday.  It’s a day trip to Farm In The City, Chocolate Factory, Sakae Sushi and 3D Art. We paid […]

Art & Craft: Sponge Owl

Ethan came home from school one day showing me the instruction for his school craft project. I took a look at it and asked him what is that supposed to be. He said that is an owl. We got into a heated argument as I refused to believe that is how an owl is supposed to look like but he insisted it is an owl.  I don’t read chinese so I don’t know if Ethan […]

She is also the person behind this amazing Instagram account with such massive followers: @sycookies She takes beautiful pictures of food and she works extremely well with flat lay shots. […]

Ethan’s Belated Birthday Cake

Ethan’s birthday was last Thursday but he was having his mid term school exam then so we did not go out to celebrate. But I did manage to boil birthday eggs for him on that day.  Today, we brought the kids back to my in-law’s to have a simple cake cutting for Ethan.  Ice-cream cake from Baskin Robbins.  Ethan with my parents-in-law and sisters-in-law. It has been a while since our last arts and crafts project. Today’s project is making paper popsicle out of the boy’s footprint. Ayden can’t do much here so Ethan assisted him when it comes to tracing and cutting.  Materials needed are coloured paper, popsicle stick, glue, pencil and a pair of scissors.  Big brother Ethan helped trace Ayden’s footprint.  He also helped to cut it out.  Ayden is able to apply glue onto the […]

We went to Bukit Gambang Resort City last weekend but before we began our journey on Saturday, we dropped by Ethan’s school for his Black Belt 1st Poom certificate and changing of belt ceremony.  Ethan started learning taekwondo in March 2014. I was hesitant to let him learn initially but the father convinced me to let him with the reason it will be a good self-defense. I gave in and from that day onwards, our Saturdays […]

Homeschooling Activity : Science Experiment – How to make a snake jump

Today’s activity is more suitable for younger children than toddlers. We are going to learn about static electricity and how it can make a paper snake jump! First, we’ll need to draw a snake on a piece of paper. Next, cut the snake out. Before you know it, it will jump and bite you!  Watch this video to see how it actually happens: Check out also our other Science experiment:

Homeschooling the Toddler: Science Experiment – Float or Sink?

Just like big brother Ethan during his preschool years, I am homeschooling Ayden too. Besides doing art & craft and learning music, Ayden loves Science. Ethan’s Turn

A reader asked me the other day why is my blog mostly about Ayden and is lacking on Ethan’s update? Activities for Toddlers in KidZania

We brought the boys to KidZania today. I was surprised that we needed to pay RM39 for Ayden to enter and play too. I asked them what can a 2 1/2 year old kid do in KidZania? To my amazement, they told me there are 19 activities suitable for toddlers in KidZania. Ethan’s entrance fee is RM80 (9 year old) while both Darling and I are RM39 each for parents. Rain drops keep falling on my head… Yesterday, I brought the boys to the playground in the evening. It was quite a gloomy evening but it was not raining yet so I decided to go ahead and bring them over. Shopping with the boys

These days, it is a challenge shopping with the boys. I don’t remember Ethan being this rascal when he was two but put him and little bro Ayden together, all hell breaks loose! Why do people insists on dressing siblings the same?

I don’t have a daughter. If I do, I am sure to dress her the same as me from time to time. It would be fun to have a mini me parading the same outfit as mine. But yeah, I don’t have a daughter. It was rather disheartening when we received Ethan’s report card late last year. It was not because of his result but more to his growth chart. Ethan’s first milk tooth extraction was last year to remove both his lower central incisors when we spotted new teeth growing behind them.
