Cook with Ayden: Stir-Fried Long Beans with Egg
I do grocery shopping daily. As I was thinking of what to cook today, I saw some nice long beans and bitter gourd. I love bitter gourd but the boys don’t so I ended up buying long beans. I plan to fry it with eggs. It did not cross my mind that Ayden can actually cook this too as it requires frying.
When we were paying, Ayden asked me what was I planning to cook with that long beans. I told him we’ll be having stir-fried long beans with eggs. He asked if he can cook it but I said maybe not. But as soon as I blurted that out, I remember that we can actually use the multi-cooker to fry this so we did.

This Ayden is getting cheekier by the day. He insisted to have his Pikachu with him and when I suggested for it to sit next to the plant, he disapproved.
Little Chef Ayden wanted Pikachu to be in front, together with the ingredients
This is another simple dish to prepare.
Ingredients:
A bundle of Long Beans (cut into short pieces)
3 Eggs
5 Garlics (minced)
Salt (to taste)
Soy Sauce (1 teaspoon)
A dash of pepper
2 tablespoon oil
Method:
1) Heat wok.
2) Pour oil into the wok.
3) Add garlic and fry until fragrant.
4) Add long beans and fry until softens.
5) Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk.
6) Add a dash of pepper into the egg and continue whisking.
7) Add salt and soy sauce into the long beans.

Alternatively, you may use a multi-cooker like Little Chef Ayden.

4) Add long beans and fry until softens
5) Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk

8) Pour the egg mixture
9) Stir
10) Serve
As usual, here is the video of Little Chef Ayden at work:

Oh my, Ayden is such a cutie! I love his chef’s hat. :-)
This one, I can cook. I would slice the long beans so very the halus-halus, my missus would cut it just like how Ayden did it. :D
I love long beans and bitter gourd but not my family. I hardly buy both. If I do, I will cook with eggs. Or add long beans in my fried rice.
I love Ayden’s smile in 1st photo. So happy. Haha. He is one lil’ happy chef.
Ayden is so interested in cooking that he will ask you to let him cook. This is very good – means you can retire from cooking soon.
Hi little chef! Got chance cook for aunty Hayley can? =)
Merryn dear, you should prepare 2 bowl when open the eggs. Open and put in a bowl A then only transfer it into bowl B, so that if one of the egg is rotten it will not ruin the whole batch. :)
You have a raise a good kid, his future wife must thank you, Merryn.
I love long beans and bitter gourd anytime. He is so cute! He will be a great chef someday after getting so many lessons from mummy.
I am able to bravely explore and cook a bit today because I had to help my mum in the kitchen often throughout my teenage years. That’s why I am good at chopping, frying and peeling all the tedious fruits easily.
