Tissue Crafts with the Boys
The boys were a little under the weather with flu and cough recently, so I bought them lots of tissues for their runny noses. Anyway, Ayden and Ethan are better now but since we have so much tissue paper at home, I thought of making a tissue craft with them.
We made a candle transfer craft art.
Materials needed are:
1) Tissue papers (We used Vinda Deluxe 3-ply Facial Tissues in soft packs)
2) Candles
3) Poster Colours
4) Paint brush
5) Wax paper (We used baking sheets from our kitchen)
6) Scissors
7) Hairdryer
8) Work gloves
This art requires the use of extra strong tissues that won’t tear when painted on. Vinda Deluxe tissues are perfect as these tissues are so strong, you can even print, paint and write on them; without tearing the tissues, thanks to its signature Knitted Fibre Technology.
First, the boys painted their favourite item on the tissue. They painted on the tissue easily as it remains strong even while wet.
Once the painting is dry, cut out along the outline of the picture.
We only need one layer of tissue for this art for easier transfer onto the candle. Since Vinda facial tissues are 3-ply, the boys removed the remaining 2 layers of tissues before transferring the art onto the candle.
Place the tissue art cut-out onto the candle and wrap tightly with wax paper.
I let the boys wear gloves at this point to protect their hands from hot air (from the hair dryer). Blow-dry using hairdryer until the tissue starts to stick on the candle.
Then, remove the wax paper and see the tissue art magically transferred onto the candle!Â
The result is simply magical!

We’re excited to explore new prints for this candle art, and will definitely make this again soon.
On another note, I was back at my parent’s place over the weekend. We were looking through my mom’s photo cabinet and saw my wedding album there.
So I showed Ayden pictures of my wedding and decided to try re-creating my wedding gown for my doll. Since we don’t have any white fabric at my mom’s place, I decided to use tissues instead.
Look at how stretchable the toilet paper is…just like real fabric!
I used Vinda Deluxe 3-ply toilet tissue for the doll’s top and facial tissues for the gown.
Ayden, being such a good helper he is, assisted me to paint a strip of tissue for the belt.
Once dry, I stick the belt onto the doll.
I used smooth facial tissue for the veil. I only needed 1 ply for it hence I removed the extra 2 sheets from that piece.
For the finishing touch, I made a bouquet out of my mom’s miniature anthurium flower. She was very kind to cut the precious flower off her plant for my doll bride ♥
How do you like my mini wedding gown creation inspired by my very own wedding gown?
I may be beautiful in white  but I prefer my doll bride to have more glow hence I included a pink belt with a matching anthurium bouquet since she was already wearing pink heels when I got it.
Ayden complimented my design. He said that doll bride is the most beautiful bride he has ever seen. Actually, she is the ONLY bride he has ever seen. Haha. I don’t think we’ve attended any weddings with Ayden as yet.

Anyway, it is great news that Vinda Deluxe tissues are now available in Malaysia. These extra strong yet extra soft tissues are not only great for my craft projects, they are also most useful for cleaning up messes at home (and runny noses!).
Nice! Next time he can design his other half’s wedding gown. :D
That will really be lovely <3
Arts and crafts are a great way to develop fine motor skills and creativity. Looks like the boys had a fun time.
We had a blast. I love spending time with the boys doing craft. It is therapeutic :)
What a nice intro to Vinda Deluxe tissues. Will look for it to check it out when I go grocery shopping.
I’m sure you’ll love the quality of Vinda Deluxe tissues :)
So I must buy Vinda Deluxe Tissues to dress my dolls too! Muahahaha
You are such a really talented and creative mummy. It really amazed me how you guys coloured the candles and proved how strong the Vinda’s paper quality. Kudos!
The candle art was really fun. We even bought more candles to create more designs. I love it and am now personalizing some candles for some of my friends. You should try it one of these days. It makes a great gift too.
I like the pom pom!
