The boys’ first MRT ride

When we were in Bangkok earlier this month, we relied mostly on their BTS Skytrain to go around the city.

The boys loved riding on that very much that once we are back home in Malaysia, they requested to go for a ride on our very own MRT. Little Ayden find it odd that we don’t take the train here at home but do so when we are abroad. I had to explain to him that we have a driver (the Daddy ) here but none when we are abroad hence the public transportation.

The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line was launched last Monday and we took advantage of the 50% off ticket price to bring the boys to KL.

Phileo Damansara MRT Station.

The almost empty Phileo Damansara MRT Station as we were there at 10.10pm

Darling checking with the staffs if it is still possible for us to go to Bukit Bintang and back on time before they close.

We were told it is possible but we won’t have much time to spare at Bukit Bintang. After discussing with the boys, they agreed that we will make a quick dash just so they can ride on the train

The staff was very helpful to guide us to purchase our tickets.

Little rascal

Finally in the MRT

This boy really enjoyed the ride especially when the train went underground.

The train picked up speed as it went into the tunnel much to the passengers’ delight. Cheers can be heard throughout like as if we just won the Thomas Cup or something

Bukit Bintang MRT Station is just across the road from The Cube, Bukit Bintang.

We walked to Pavilion and enjoyed the city night view for a little while before making our way back to the station to purchase our return ticket.

The escalator at Bukit Bintang MRT station heading to Platform 2 to Sg Buloh is one of the longest and steepest escalators I have come across. Not for the faint hearted who is afraid of heights but thank goodness I am okay with it :-D

We just barely caught the last train back but it was worth it as the boys really enjoyed the ride.

I told the boys, when they grow up, they’ll be riding the MRT a lot as I believe it is not worth driving by then. We’ll be traveling in the Klang Valley like Singaporeans do in Singapore as their MRT line brings you to just about anywhere.

Same as the escalators at the London Underground. They go down, down, down…or up, up, up! I cannot imagine if they spoil and one would have to use the stairs.

Nice experience for the boys. Now pretty convenient to use the train to go anywhere over here. No train in Sarawak. Mostly rely on buses.

Like STP said, the London underground escalators were scarier. Dark and the escalator taking long time to reach the top and bottom.

Oh, only 50% discount, not FOC like previously? LOL :P

So nice that all of you enjoyed the MRT ride especially Ethan and Ayden. Can see Ayden is so happy smiling all the way in all the photos. Good effort on bringing them for the MRT ride even though it was so late at night.

Honestly I always enjoyed riding the trains in Bangkok or Japan and Shanghai. The grass must be greener there, perhaps with new sights and scenery to see. I often bring visiting guests to ride our trains around KL so that they could see on different level and perspective. I am glad your boys enjoyed!
