The first thing I noticed is they removed the glass panel that was previously there last year. When I asked the staff why is this so, he said it is because they received feedback that the place was quite stuffy hence they removed the glass door for better ventilation.
I agree with this move as it now looks more welcoming and inviting. Previously, diners may be ‘afraid’ to enter not knowing what lies behind that door.
With the open concept now, passers-by can see what is inside and be more interested to enter. I was seated deep inside and I see that they enjoy brisk lunch business as well. Our previous visit here was during dinner time and they were running on a full-house.
They also moved the higher tables and chairs to the front of the restaurant and the regular tables to the back so to the back we go as Ayden can’t be trusted to sit on a high chair.
Love this wall with some of their best-selling items written all over it. It gives us an idea on what to order here.
Ice Lemon Tea (RM4)
The Daddy requested to have Ice Lemon Tea without the ICE. Maybe he should have just asked for COLD Lemon Tea (without ice)
One thing I will not miss when dining here is Skippys Salad (RM19.50) with sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, anchovies and bacon.
The fine print on the menu said that this salad comes with sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, anchovies and bacon but what I got was bacon, bacon, MORE bacon and some fresh leafy greens. Not that I am complaining. I LOVE IT!
Soft, chewy and tender bacon goes so well with everything else in this bowl. This salad itself can be my complete meal for lunch. I don’t need anything else.
But the boys beg to differ. They are macho men. They need more than a bowl of salad to fill them up. They come here specially for the pizza.
After all, Skippys Pizza pride themselves as being THE real pork pizza company.
We tried their Ultimate Hawaiian and Meat Lovers pizza previously so we know their pizzas here are hearty as there are lots of meat in it.
Today we decided to order Skippys’ Loaded 9″ Pizza (RM27.90) as it is highly recommended on TripAdvisor.
Generously loaded with Ham, Pepperoni, Bacons, Onions, Sausage, Pineapple, Bellpepper and Olives with just the right crust (thin and crispy), this pizza is full of flavour and did not disappoint us.
Pulled Pork Burger with Coleslaw (RM17.50)
I decided to try their Pulled Pork Burger. It looked pretty ordinary when it was served.
But looks much better open-faced, don’t you think so? Strips of pulled pork on a bed of coleslaw that was hidden in the picture but if you look closely enough, you can see some carrots peeping out.
Can see the coleslaw better?
THIS, ladies and gentlemen, this Pulled Pork Burger is BETTER (In My Humble Opinion) than their signature Skippys Glutton Pork Burger that we had during our previous visit.
While I had to share my Glutton Pork Burger coz it was too filling, I did not want to share this Pulled Pork Burger no matter how full I was after eating the salad. But I was nice lah, I gave each of my boys a strip of pulled pork to taste otherwise people complain I am a bad mom.
TOTALLY RECOMMENDED to order this Pulled Pork Burger if you dine here.
Darling enjoyed their Pork Ribs in 7 sauces during our previous visit and wanted to order that again today but I told him why not we try the Lamb Rib instead? I mean let’s try something new so he did. He ordered this Lamb Ribs (RM40)
He still prefers the Pork Ribs in 7 Sauces and I agree. For ribs, we totally recommend the Pork Ribs in 7 Sauces. That is the best here that this Lamb Ribs kind of pale in comparison to it.
As usual the boys will request for pasta whenever we dine Western. We ordered Pork Meatballs with Cheesy Sauce (RM24.90) for Ethan and Spaghetti Bolognese (RM16.90) for Ayden.
Look at those glorious porky meatballs swimming in a pool of cheese! Ethan enjoyed this a lot. He can’t finish it though as the serving is quite huge. I always thought their pasta servings are huge. The last time we were here, the Daddy had to help finish up the boys’ pasta too.
Ayden insisted to order Spaghetti Bolognese (RM16.90) as he simply loves bolognese.
The spaghetti bolognese comes with a whole lot of minced meat. That is a thick layer of minced meat on that spaghetti.
We truly enjoyed our porky lunch today. The meal lasted me through dinner. I skipped dinner but still cook a simple meal for the boys as they are still growing and eats frequent meals.
I know I will definitely pester Darling to bring me here again as I am already craving for the Pulled Pork Burger but one thing though, finding a parking spot can be quite difficult. We parked at Uptown 1 parking space at RM3 per entry for weekends and public holidays.
Sigh!!!!! No pizza, no pasta, no burger for us anymore, all not gluten free…but we can have the salad, I think…and oooooo….bacon!!!
The cheezy pasta looks a bit too… watery to me. Lain-lain looks superb. :D
I have eaten at this eatery once (at their Phileo Damansara HQ). I will still go for their pizzas. Yums!
Yes, I like their pork pizza!
