Healthy kids make a happy holiday

The school’s academic year is over and that only means holiday is here! We have a lot planned out for our year end break hence I must make sure the boys are in good health to enjoy our holidays.

We just got back from a beach holiday.

Both Ethan and Ayden enjoyed getting lots of Vitamin Sea

They had so much fun under the sun that it was difficult for me to ensure they eat and drink on time as they sometimes refused to leave the beach to have their meals.

All the sweating and intense physical activity has taken a toll on little Ayden.

His body got heaty and his appetite decreases. He coughs at night, disrupting his sleep.

I gave him a tube of Bo Ying compound to relieve the heatiness, cough and cold.

My in-laws introduced me to Bo Ying compound 9 years ago when big brother Ethan was little. I did not know much of Traditional Chinese Medicine back then but Ethan was often unwell so I decided to just give it a try.

I was initially skeptical of Chinese medicine but after studying more about it and speaking to many mothers out there, I became more comfortable with it.

These days I always carry their 5 Baby Treasures series along with me whenever we travel.

Eu Yan Sang’s 5 Baby Treasures series – Bo Ying Compound, Pearl powder, Kitz Cough powder, Jun Ging powder and Pak Poh powder. They are all packed in small box packaging hence it is convenient to keep in my bag as they don’t take up too much space.

WHAT ARE THEY FOR?

In general I feed the boys Pearl powder to relieve excess heat but if their symptoms come with cough or cold, then I’ll use Bo Ying compound instead.

If the cold becomes uncomfortable with blocked nose, thick mucus or phlegm, I’ll give them Pak Poh powder.

When the kids cough and have phlegm but is without the cold, I’ll use Kitz Cough powder.

Jun Ging powder comes handy to relieve mild diarrhea as well as cold and phlegm too.

I just read what I’ve written above and am surprised that I actually sound like a Chinese sinseh. A BANANA Chinese sinseh! LoL! Eu Yan Sang is well-known for adopting modern and scientific approaches in the production and retailing of natural health and wellness products these days that they appeal to even modern mom like me.

Anyway, back to the Bo Ying compound, it is easy to consume. Just a tube a day to be taken with warm water.

Ayden is well again the following day and continued to spend the day in the pool as well as the beach.

A word of caution though, children with G-6-PD (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency are not allowed to consume the products I mentioned above.
