The Story of the Empty Milk Carton
Ethan took out a carton of milk from the refrigerator. That is the only carton of milk left that day. He poured out some milk and kept the carton back into the refrigerator. Seeing big brother having milk to drink, Ayden asked for it too so I went to get some only to find that the carton of milk is already EMPTY. Rage mode ON but I decided to play it cool. I gave Ayden chocolate drink instead.
We went grocery shopping soon after. I deliberately skipped buying milk. In the evening, Ethan went into the kitchen to pour himself some milk but yeah, you can guess what happened.
He told me we ran out of milk. I said, “No way. There is a carton of milk in the fridge. Surely there is SOME milk in there?” He said, “NOPE. It’s empty”. I jumped at the golden opportunity and asked, “That’s impossible! Now WHO would keep an EMPTY milk carton in the fridge?!”
I left it at that and later that evening, I found that empty milk carton already in our recycling box.
I smiled to myself while texting the Daddy to get some milk on his way home
In case you don’t already know, I collect empty milk cartons for my garden. I grow spinach in them.
We also do craft with empty milk cartons so these empty milk cartons will never go to waste in our house BUT they are NOT to be kept in the fridge. They belong in the recycling box until I have time to make something out of them.
I like the sailing boat!! Haha. My Jay also did something with milk carton once. Making a boat with propeller.
Ar home, mostly Jay drinks fresh milk and he is very hard-working drinking it as sometimes he wants to recycle the cartons or bottles.
Poor Ethan, kena from you. But again it taught him a lesson never to keave empty carton in fridge. ^^
Wow! Mummy is so smart to recycle them into mini plant boxes. I really couldn’t think of that innovative ideas. Better still, it could sail on water to give hours of fun to the kids. I remembered that when I was a kid, I loved playing my own home-made toys at times like paper boats and planes. Thumbs up!! I enjoy the happiest memories which you have jolted mine.
You are so smart not to fly into a rage and scold Ethan but let him learn the lesson himself when he has no milk to drink. Does the empty milk carton need to be washed first before being put in your recycling box?
Aiyor!!! I use nice pots and buy the best soil and everything but it does not seem to help much…most of the time. Luckily, my attempt at planting ladies fingers is a success.
Yea…I like to recycle the empty carton milk box. There are lots of things you can do with it…like you did planting vegetables. Nice one!
