Which Flight to Choose from KL to Bali?

Which flight to take from KL to Bali? That is really a tough choice. Initially we wanted to try Air Asia but knowing that it will take 3 hours, I know we have to get food for the kids and us too. So after adding the cost for luggage, FOOD etc, etc… AA is no longer affordable.

Next choice – Malindo. With the rates we got from AA, we can get Malindo’s Business Class promo seats for my family. I was so tempted to book this but after hearing so many horror stories of fellow friends’ delayed flights with Malindo, I chickened out after giving it so much thought for two whole days.

We finally decided on Malaysia Airlines but because I have been wasting precious days wondering which flight to choose, the final fare is now RM500 extra than the initial fare we spotted several days earlier. So much for procrastinating

Anyway, we cant turn back time and decided to book the flight tickets. We did the booking at midnight and guess what? We were unable to complete the payment as their system were down! WTH! We tried again the next day and this time we got through. I prefer Air Asia’s online booking system. They are much faster and efficient compared to Malaysia Airlines.

So there we were, in MH 853 enroute to Denpasar, Bali.

I am glad they have in-flight entertainment. At least the kids won’t get bored. As for me, I don’t like watching anything on flight. I just want to shut my eyes and sleep but then again, with two kids in tow, it won’t be possible now, will it?

I have Ayden on my left and Ethan on my right while the Daddy sits across the aisle with two beautiful ladies

What I always look forward to during flying is always the in-flight meals. Doesn’t matter if they are delicious or not, I always look forward to seeing the crew pushing their trolleys asking, “Chicken or Fish?”, “Orange or Apple juice?” or whatever inaudible questions that comes out from their mouth.

It somehow takes away the boredom of being pinned down to my seat in the aircraft. That is why I find flying with AA such a bore. They don’t even go around giving you peanuts. I mean, even monkeys get peanuts in the zoo! Come on!

kacang

Talking about peanuts, it is actually pretty annoying when someone opens the FIRST packet of peanut as the entire aircraft will now smell of fart. Don’t you agree? LoL. It only gets better after everyone gets their packet of peanuts and opens it with vengeance. Peanuts somehow tastes better in aircraft with the aroma of fart and all…

This is our in-flight meal for our flight from KL to Bali. I did not request special Kids Meal for Ayden as he eats like an adult. Both Ayden and Ethan chose to have fried rice with fish fillet while I chose to have murtabak with dhall curry.

We were also given a slice of cake and a cookie to go with our meal. The fried rice is a little salty to my liking. The fish fillet fares much better.

My murtabak is the bomb! I thoroughly enjoyed it but only got to eat half of it because Ayden decided that the murtabak is more delicious than his fried rice so being the good mother I am, I let him have half of it

I killed my boredom crunching on these cookies.

The boys did not want theirs so I got to eat them all. Yum yum yum yum yum…

Ethan on the other hand, kept himself occupied watching movie after movie throughout the entire 3 hours flight. On our flight home, we had noodles. A rather tasteless one that is. I should have just stick to the murtabak. Huhuhu…

It is important to choose the right flight especially when you have kids in a long flight.

Good that you guys have a smooth flight in and out.

Me too. I always look forward to open the table and eat in an aeroplane, and then cleaning up and putting back the table. The experience, not because the food is good. Haha.

Hehe. At least time passed by while we are busy eating :D

I had the same murtabak during my flight back from Siem Reap; and guess what? There was no in-flight entertainment! Tipu duit! (In-flight entertainment was available from KL to REP) and no, no fruit juices during my flight from Pg to KL. Also, flight got delayed….. 1hour+

No juices? At all? Got kacang or not? Flight delayed summo. Sien la like that..

So inconvenient for us, have to fly to KL, 2 hours. I wish they had flights from Kuching – like how they have flights from KK, Sabah. But flying from here to KK is out of the question, even worse – the horrible monopoly airline and their small ATR aircrafts, prone to delays and cancellations. No AA flights from Sibu eastwards, dunno why.

Poor thing. This is the time I am glad I am residing in the Klang Valley as it is easy for us to fly anywhere. It used to be a lot easier and nearer for us last time when the airport was in Subang, so near our house. Now, it is further away but at least we do not need to fly to the airport.

I like inflight meals too. Good choice to go with this airline so that the children gets inflight entertainment and all meals are included.

Speaking of peanuts and farts. Once my office coworker kept farting and I kept smelling peanuts and I kept searching for who is eating peanuts and then only it hit me that someone is farting cos no one was eating peanuts! Yucks! Imagine I inhale so much fart thinking it was peanuts! Yucks!

LoL! That is hilarious! Hahahahahahaha. I can’t stop laughing!

I dislike flying – it’s one of the things I don’t like about travel. Can’t stand being trapped in an enclosure in the air for hours! Lol.

The only thing I enjoy flying with MAS is their inflight entertainment. Food wise…I superb like their peanut and cookies. For main, I am quite phobia with the sandwich I had during my flight to Sibu…hahah

  • //

Nowadays are good times to take MAS anyway, isn’t it? I think they are cheaper due to the… neh… you know lah… right?

  • //

I never fly with MAS before and not yet have chance to experience that fart of peanut opening LOL
I have serious motion sickness, I’ll eat pill right before and sleep throughout the journey ~>_<~
