Concerns before sending Ayden to school

As you know, Ayden is home-schooled just like his elder brother Ethan during his preschool years. However, I intend to send Ayden to school earlier as I believe he may benefit socially in school. By school I meant those enrichment centres that is not classroom type of learning.

We actually planned to send Ayden earlier this year but has been procrastinating as I’ve been busy. We finally made the effort to pay a visit to one of the learning centre nearby my area a couple of weeks ago.

I am very particular if a learning centre is carpeted as little children are very sensitive towards dusts and carpets can cause a whole lot of problem. Boy am I glad that the centre we visited is no longer carpeted. They are using laminated flooring now.

So there I was, sitting comfortably discussing Ayden’s class schedule with the principal while Ayden is in the class with the facilitators and friends. I was so glad that Ayden has no trouble getting into the class. He happily walked inside when one of the teachers asked him if he would like to join them.

I filled up the registration form. Gave them all the necessary details and told them we’ll be sending Ayden come Monday. I did not pay anything yet as I told them I’ll pay when Ayden starts on Monday.

Then it happened. A guy came up to the centre and rang the door bell. The principal asked me who that guy is. I was surprised that she even asked me. She asked the guy and he said he came to pick up one of the students. She called the student out and asked her if she knows this guy to which the student answered YES. The principal then releases the student to him. Just like that! Without calling the parents to double confirm or anything.

My heart dropped into my stomach. Immediately I have a bad feeling of this place. By then the class is over and Ayden happily ran out to me. Ayden was very happy. He loves this place and wants to come again.

I thought about it over the weekend. I discussed with Darling of my concerns. We both agreed Ayden can stay home a little longer. I will continue guiding him. He can learn social skills during his daily playground sessions. Let him be my baby a little bit longer, after all he is not even 3 yet.

What the… I think that principal needs a kid to go missing for her to learn the lesson the hard way. That is bad…. :/

It’s outrageous how people can still be so reckless these days. Sigh.

Understand your concern. I just kindergarden-hunting last week with a friend. I decided on the one that I am going to enrol my boy. The principal assured me that they will not release the children without parents calling or texting her.

So Jamie will be starting kindy soon? I’m still unsure what to do with Ayden now. LoL.

Yes, scary…with all those cases over there these days. You did not tell the principal off? Somebody should do that! Or MANY parents do that, get people to go pick their kids so used to it already – I will not be at all surprised, parents these days. I wonder why they bother having children.

As for Ayden, if he goes to school, I know who will be affected most. So sad, so lonely at home…so kesian. Muahahahahaha!!!!

I did not tell her off. I gave her a weird stare, took Ayden and left that place. I don’t think I’ll ever return.

As for Ayden going to school.. I was sad when big bro Ethan first attended school ages ago. I cried on my way down the stairs after dropping him off. But with Ayden, after having these two boys, I think I will jump for joy for finally getting some ME time when they are in school! Haha!

Hmm..it’s a really bad sign when the principal asked YOU who the person is. How would you know? You just came here today. It’s bad that the security is so lax. Even if I go and pick up the kids, I need to have my better half with me. I can’t go and pick them up by myself even though the kids know me. On one hand I understand why they do that (coz some parents will bising if they don’t allow or need to call beforehand, say it’s troublesome etc) but on the other hand I wouldn’t personally want to send to a place with no basic security precautions like this.

Exactly my thoughts, why was she asking ME? With the ever rising crime rate these days, trouble or no trouble, I dont wish my kids to be released just like that without them knowing who the person is. Horror.

Hhmmm I hope someone would point out this danger to the principal. How long is the normal schooling play session? You could wait there for Ayden if you want to send hm therebut is concerned about his safety.

Unfortunately they have this ‘no parents waiting’ rule here. We are not allowed to wait for our kids as it may be a distraction.
