His shoe vs Mine

It is a state holiday today so let’s go shopping. We woke up early and quickly headed out to our favourite shopping mall because we are afraid if we go later, there won’t be any parking spot available as everyone else is taking this opportunity to do some shopping too. Town folks, tsk tsk!

Ayden has been wearing big brother Ethan’s hand-me-down Crocs all these while so we thought it is time to buy him something new.

Wah kids these days. Got proper tools to take foot measurement somemore!

When I was younger, we put the sole of the shoes against the bottom of our feet to see if it is the right size before trying them on.

See what Ayden picked. Hehe. Hot from the latest craze of Finding Dory – NEMO!

Yeah, Ayden said Dory is for girls. He wants Nemo. Anyway, there aren’t any Dory design so…

SO CUTE lah. I also want emo29-3 That is until I see the price lah. RM169 kawanemo12-3

Fuh! Please. Put it back down. We will slowly walk out so the sales girl wont realised we are gone emo25-1

But the Daddy said it is okay since we rarely buys Ayden stuffs as he usually wears hand-me-downs from clothes to shoes to toys.

See the sole also so cute. One side dolphin, another side turtle.

But then, the sales girl is quite honest. She said, if we are looking for something more comfortable, we should get some other design. This Nemo sandal is cantik but not as practical and comfortable as their other sandals.

She brought out some other designs for Ayden to try on. I thought since they are not Nemo, they should be cheaper but… still RM169 kawan!

So I left it to the Daddy lah. I wont be spending that much money for a kid’s shoe.

In the end, they decided on the above pair of sandals. It IS super comfy. Soft and nicely padded all over with better grib on his feet.

Okay lah. Nice lah. Daddy pay.

Right after we left Stride Rite with Ayden’s new pair of sandals, we headed to Bata.

I saw some sports shoes that I like but they told me the smallest size is 5 and I was like WHAT?! Hello! There are adult humans with size 3 feet you know?! The staff look at me apologetically and said in almost a whisper if I would like to have a look at the kids collection. Of course I don’t want!

But I came back later because I failed to get anything for me eventhough we went around looking at other sports shop. I am reduced to buying shoes from the kids’ collection. I iz sad.

This is my new sports shoes.

Brand: POWER
Size: 3
Price: RM60 sahaja

To make matters worse, Darling said to me, “People can tell you are wearing a kid’s shoe from afar because of the strap. No adult will wear shoes with velcro strap”

Sigh… emo21

Lantak lah. I wore it to go for a jog today and it is super comfy. I jogged 2 km in it and is now a happy girl emo31-3

Seriously, you are the first female I know who feel embarrassed about shopping in kids section. My female friends all very happy when they found something they like from kids section because, well… cheaper.

“When I was younger, we put the sole of the shoes against the bottom of our feet to see if it is the right size before trying them on.” <- you so sophisticated, me, I terus put my feet into the shoes to try. If it feels right, then it is the right size. :P

All my life, I want to grow big and shop at the big girl’s department :(

  • //

I like shoes with velcro strap, easier and I purposely got a pair of school shoe with velcro strap during secondary school. I like your new sport shoe btw, bright and pretty colour combination!

    • //

School time I also always use velcro strap shoes. Hehe. But now thought can upgrade dy, mana tau, back to velcro :(

  • //

What? Didn’t buy the Finding Dory one? So so so so nice wor. Hmmm…next time when you’re old, you want this and want that, Ayden will say no need, so expensive, so expensive…and buy you something cheaper. Padan muka!!! Hehehehehehe!!!

    • //

Eh, but the one the Dad bought for him is still the same price as the Finding Dory one. It is more comfortable so we chose that over the cute Nemo one.

I know Arthur. That is why I am saving hard for my retirement days. Huhuhu.. I’ll be all alone and lonely in the old folks home :(

kids shoes seldom got cheap, even get for my youngest. He will wants to choose for himself, so end up spending more than budget.

    • //

That is what motherhood means. Spend for the kids first before us :D

  • //

The price also very nice! Fuh!

I dont spend much on kids’ footwear as they grow so fast. Jamie wears hand down from his brother as the shoes are new.

You know, kids shoes are more expensive than the adult ones. Haha.

    • //

I know and they outgrow it very quickly too! Sigh.. Nevermind lah, consider whoever comes after this is lucky lah. May not be a sibling but my nephew ke.

  • //

really? you size 3 only? ….

    • //

Yes. It is extremely difficult to get shoes my size here. That explains why I am always wearing the same shoes everywhere. And why I hate shoe shopping :(

  • //

If you live in the olden days, all the emperors will love you because of your small feet. The father loves Ayden so much to buy him such a mahal pair of shoes. When his feet have outgrown the shoes, you can frame the shoes up.
