Sentuhan Ramadan Berbuka Puasa @ Pearl International Hotel

Pearl International Hotel showcases their best this Ramadan through their “Sentuhan Ramadan Berbuka Puasa” with authentic and traditional Malaysian Ramadan food during this upcoming fasting month.

My family was invited to preview their buka puasa buffet and I must say that I am surprisingly impressed with what they have to offer.

Sentuhan Ramadan Berbuka Puasa @ Pearl International Hotel, Cafe 5 with whole marinated lamb served daily at the carving corner.

Aptly named Cafe 5, it is on Level 5 of Pearl International Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Many Live Stations are put up to ensure food is done a-la-minute and served piping hot.

Spacious and cosy interior.

The fleshy and sweet buah kurma is just perfect for breaking of fast as it helps to regulate the digestive process. I ate many of them as I love this a lot.

At the carving station, there is whole marinated lamb or roasted marinated leg of lamb served daily with black pepper sauce, rosemary sauce, mint sauce, grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes and sauteed vegetables.

Beef and chicken satay will also be served daily with peanut sauce, ketupat, onions and cucumber.

Tender and aromatic lemang to be eaten with chicken or beef rendang or serunding ayam.

Ayden loves the lemang here so much that he ate so many of them. The above pic shows him trying to stuff the entire slice of lemang into his mouth emo12-19

For a taste of Arab, chicken shawarma will also be served daily with pita bread, yogurt and mediterranean salad.

Hot Kawah will be serving mutton rogan josh, braised lamb chuncks cooked with gravy, gulai daging and gulai daging kawah on rotational basis.

Nasi briyani with lamb and vegetable dalca and chicken briyani is available too.

Nasi Kandar Special will have spicy fried chicken, fried fish roe tumeric and onion, fried fish, fried squid with mustard seed, chinese omelette, fried cabbage with dried shrimps and steamed fragrant rice on rotational.

Buttered Vegetables goes extremely well with the kids.

Piping hot curry noodles from the Live Action Station.

Another favourite is the tasty Wanton Noodles also from the Live Station that is a hit with the kids.

Lontong – compressed rice cake served with sayur lodeh and sambal.

Fresh fruits in abundance! A choice of honey dew, pineapple, watermelon, papaya, guava, jackfruit, jambu air and golden melon to nourish you after a day of fasting.

Rojak counter with a selection of fresh fruits with shrimp sauce, young mango, sweet turnip, pineapple, young papaya, green guava and cucumber, and fresh ulam-ulaman with accompanying dressing.

Dessert! emo12-19 The endless stretch of desserts!

Take a pick from strawberry yogurt cream cakes, black forest cake, blueberry cream cake, chocolate eclairs, assorted flavour ice cream with toppings and condiments, assorted cookies, cream caramel, assorted french pastries, assorted jelly-in-glass, assorted pudding, durian mousse, assorted fruit tart, assorted mini doughnuts, tapai ubi and tapai pulut… emo5-10

The extremely rich bubur cha cha with generously filled treasures.

Pearl, my lau tee fang – old haunt! Used to go there every year, sometimes more than once a year for meetings and what not…and so happy when it was Ramadhan – could go for the buffet, free…government pay! Hehehehehe!!!!

Where are the hawker stalls? Usually outside, poolside. Where’s the guy frying those gorgeous clams? He have me two HUGE helpings…and that was when I got my first gout attack, 2 a.m. that morning. Will never ever forget that as long as I live!
