Animal Feeding for the Animal Conservation Fund
Most children are fascinated by animals and often have an animal that is a particular favorite of theirs. Animals are used widely in our daily education especially for younger children. A better way to introduce and educate animals to them is to let them see and experience these animals upclose which we did last month at Bukit Gambang Safari Park. The entire trip is all about animals, animals and more animals.
One activity that the boys love besides riding on animals or animal petting is animal feeding. During our adventure at the safari park recently, there were at least 4 types of animals that we are allowed to feed – lemur, elephant, bear and birds.
We fed elephant and birds before but we have never feed a bear or a lemur. The kids were really excited to feed the lemur but being the school holidays, many others are interested in the animal feeding activities too. Here at Bukit Gambang Safari Park, they limit the number of visitors feeding the animals to ensure that the animals are not overfed. We were not so lucky as the lemur was already fully fed by many other visitors hence we had to skip this.
We managed to try bear feeding though.
Bear feeding is located at Forest Land Tower, Level 1.
It costs RM5 per feed. The entire RM5 goes to their Animal Conservation Fund.
We are given a tub filled with honey coated green apples to feed the bears.
These bears are really cute. They’ll dance happily once they caught the apple.
Look at this bear happily waiting for more apples.
Ayden tried feeding those bears too. Just look at them. They are really very adorable.
It was our first time feeding bears and we just can’t get enough of their cute reactions each time they caught the apple.
Ethan and Ayden also got the opportunity to feed the birds. The boys were lucky as they were the last in line before they closes the feeding allocation for the day.
Ethan feeding the birds milk.
So beautiful <3
Ayden wanted to feed the birds too.
Besides milk, they also fed the birds with sunflower seeds.
Ayden bravely fed the birds seeds too but we made sure he used the container and not let the birds peck from his palm as he is still too young and might get startled by it.
We also managed to feed the baby elephants.
These baby elephants are escorted to the Farm House from the Wild Savannah for their daily evening walk. They needed the exercise and this is the best way to give them the much needed workout.
It costs RM5 to feed the elephants and as usual, the entire amount goes into their Animal Conservation Fund. You can also donate to their Animal Conservation Fund if you wish.
Ethan feeding Mas & Jeli bananas.
Ayden still feeling all excited from feeding the bear and birds earlier, was very keen to feed these baby elephants. He squealed happily when the elephant grabbed the banana away from his hand. These baby elephants will dance (sway gently) when fed. Such a beautiful and graceful animal.
Besides feeding the animals, there are many other activities that permits us to donate to their Animal Conservation Fund. One of them is during the Bird Show where Ethan holds up a RM10 note and the bird will fly towards his hand to grab the money away from him.
It was a priceless moment for Ethan; having the bird fly from the stage towards him, landing on his hand and grabbing the money away. The crowd cheered and many other kids followed suit. What a fun way to donate :)
We learned so much about animals during our 3D/2N stay here. We also learned what these animals eat and how they are cared for. We left the place having much more respect and empathy towards them.

I have never seen a bear in my life haha.. it’s so nice to see that the zoo here is well kept unlike the zoos that I have visited here in my country…
Oh dear. Come to Msia, I’ll bring you to see bears. There are many bears in Msia. Haha.
Good to bring the children to be closer to animals and learn to be kind to them. Did the bears catch the apple using their paws or their mouths?
The bears caught the apple using their paws and popped them into their mouth. Too cute! :)
wah, the bear so well feed, green apple with honey!
I also wanna eat that apple :D
