Outdoor Challenge & Recreational Activity @ Active Academy
Are you an outdoor person? I used to be but since becoming a mother to the two boys, I’ve been quite deprived of these challenging activities. During our recent 3D/2N adventure at Bukit Gambang Resort City, we spent an entire day at their Active Academy and I took maximum advantage here to relish my childhood interest.

This is their colourful ticketing counter.
There are many activities available here. Ethan wanted to try the Flying Fox but the minimum weight for this is 25kg. He is only 22kg so he did not get the green light to go ahead. Darling and I are good to go so we took turns. One of us stayed with the boys while the other went for the challenge.
The flying fox took us zipping 135 metres down the slope of the forest, taking off from a tree platform where we can’t even see the landing point until after we have zipped down the line. No pictures of the platform where we took off from because we did not bring our phone nor our camera up there.
FLYING FOX (RM15/person)
Being my first time on a flying fox, my heart was palpitating like mad before I took off as I did not know what to expect. The fact that I can’t see the landing point made me more anxious. I kept my arms to myself as I was zipping down the forest for fear that I might accidentally grab a monkey along the way. Only when I am safely out of the forest that I spread my arms like a bird :D
Woo hoo! The adrenaline rush was fantastic. It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. I guess the fact that I don’t have a fear of height helped a lot in this challenge :)
I made it right to the end!
And here’s a gif image of Darling zipping down the line:
The weather was perfect. We got off to an exciting start.
After the flying fox activity, we proceeded to try paintball shooting.
PAINTBALL TARGET SHOOTING (RM10/person/20 pellets)
We tried the target shooting and Ethan started first. He managed to hit several targets.
I went next and I think I shot a squirrel instead! :P
Ayden wanted to try too so the Daddy helped him. He enjoyed shooting aimlessly..
There! Daddy and Ayden, shooting..
Lastly, it was the Daddy’s turn. He is born a sniper. Every shot hit a target!
Our next activity is archery.
OUTDOOR ARCHERY (RM15/person/12 arrows)
Ayden is too young for this so he waited in the shade with me while the Daddy and Ethan went first.
I did quite well in archery. Seriously, just look at me! I can be Robin Hood’s girlfriend! I am surprised at how strong my arms are :D
And by quite well, I meant successfully planting ONE in the blue zone out of the 12 arrows! LoL! >_<
After we are done with all these activities, we decided to sign up for the most epic adventure here at Active Academy. It is their latest attraction – ATV Safari where we can ride the ATV ourselves into the safari to see the animals upclose.
ATV SAFARI ADVENTURES & TOURS (RM110/person for normal price or RM93/person for early bird)
I was hesitant inititally as I’ve never rode on an ATV before but this package includes briefing and test riding at their centre before we are allowed to ride into the safari with a guide so I gained confidence to try. I’ve actually blogged about this ATV Adventure here but here’s a recap incase you missed it.
Darling and I rode with a pillion rider each. I took Ethan while Ayden was with the Daddy. Passengers are charged an additional RM32 each.
We rode on and off road. The journey required us to go up and down hill trails.
We met animals upclose and gets to be photographed with them.
The entire ride took us 45 minutes. We covered over 6km exploring the safari and animals. It was an amazing experience to remember for a very long time. This is definitely a must-do should you make a visit here.
The Active Academy is situated just across the road from Arabian and Carribean Bay Resort. It is highly recommended for you to try the ATV SAFARI ADVENTURE & TOUR as it is the first and only safari ride through in Malaysia.

Aiyor!!!! So much fun! But if I tried the Flying Fox, I think I would die of a heart attack. :D
Haha. Maybe you can try Sky Trail instead ^_^
I am not but I would be interested to try the flying fox as I like the feeling of almost flying.
