Kids Stay and Dine for Free Weekend Getaway – Dorsett Grand Subang
I celebrated my birthday with a staycation here back in 2012.
We did not have Ayden yet that time. Only Ethan, the lightbulb was with us. The three of us fit in comfortably in the bathtub of our Deluxe room.
Back to present, Dorsett Grand Subang is having ‘Kid Stay and Dine for Free’ promo and we took advantage of that for another staycation with Ayden joining us this time.
At RM298.00nett per room per day, families can enjoy a weekend in a Deluxe room with breakfast and other free goodies for the kids (below the age of 12 years old).

Complimentary goodies welcomed the kids as soon as they entered the room.
Ayden was immediately attracted to the bear on the bed.
There was also a story book each for the boys.
The book was a great idea. The boys immediately lay down on their beds reading while I kept our luggages away.
The Dorsett Kid’s Pack consists of a cuddly bean bear, toothbrush and slippers. There were also a box of marshmallows with a welcome note, colorful toiletries and squeaky ducks to make the kids feel at home.
The boys were extremely happy with their welcome gifts. The Kids Stay and Dine for Free package come with ONE set of Dorsett Kid’s Pack but I requested for an extra set at an additional RM40nett for Ethan too.
Even the bathroom is made to be kid friendly with a small chair, colorful plastic mugs and toiletries.
The boys love the see-through bathroom. I love it too as they can always play in the bathtub and we can keep an eye on them from the room.
Four squeaky ducks waiting for us by the bathtub :D
I super love and appreciate that they actually took the trouble to rubber guard all sharp edges in the room to ensure a fun and safe stay for the kids.
Our Deluxe room comes with complimentary bottled drinking water and coffee n tea making facilities.
Safe box and hairdryer.
Bathrobe and ironing facility too.
If you want to take advantage of this Kids Stay and Dine for Free Weekend Getaway promo, it would be great if you can round up your family and friends to come together because for group booking of 5 families (or friends), Dorsett Grand Subang can arrange for activities such as cupcake decorating competitions and more.
We got the opportunity to participate in the cupcake decorating contest on the same evening we checked-into our room. We headed down to Café Aroma where we were greeted by their Chefs and elaborate set-up for the cupcake decorating event. The competition was a very friendly one as it focused on family bonding and parents spending time and having fun with their kids.
I helped Ayden with his cupcake decorations.
Big bro Ethan doesn’t seem to need any help at all and was very focused on decorating his own cupcakes.
Chef Ethan busy at work :)
Ayden did a great job too flooding his cupcakes with everything sweet and colourful! LoL!
But he got distracted halfway through and decided that eating the decors is much more fun than decorating his cupcakes so he eats…
And kept on eating! Haha!
Nevertheless, when it was time for the Chef to choose a winner, it was announced that ALL the kids are winners that evening. Oh what a joy to see all of them smiling in excitement knowing that they did well :)
Ethan receiving his gift from the Chef for his job well done.
Ayden got a prize too for eating all the decoration ingredients…

It was about 5pm when the kids completed the cupcake competition so we had a lot of time to go for a swim in their infinity pool. One of a must-do during a staycation with the boys is a dip in the pool. It won’t be complete without it.
Another shot of the boys with Isaac’s family.
After an hour of fun in the pool, we headed back to our room for a quick shower before dinner. Dinner was Barbeque Delight buffet at Terazza Brasserie at RM115.00nett per adult while the children eat for free as part of the Kids Stay and Dine for FREE offer.
Huge spread of BBQ delights outdoor with lots more offerings indoor.
We ate till we dropped and retired for the night.
The next morning, we rise early and ready for a great work-out. One of the activities arranged for us for this promo is a morning Jazzercise.
It has been a while since I had a great workout.
After an hour of fun and fat burning, we were all famished and headed straight downstairs to Terazza Brasserie again for our complimentary breakfast.
Ayden and his breakfast :P
Look at the varieties of bread they have for breakfast.
We had a quick breakfast and headed to the swimming pool again as nothing beats having a morning swim on a sunny day.
After our swim, we headed to The Emperor for our lunch. I made prior reservations a week earlier and requested for special dimsums in addition to the regular Family Dim Sum Brunch.
My all-time favourite, Steamed BBQ Chicken Buns.
The kids’ favourite siew mai.
These are the special dimsums specially prepared by Chef Ang for us.
Bear chocolate custard steamed bun.
Ayden (and Ethan) love it so much that they did not want to eat it! Haha!
Ayden fell in love with the bears.
He can’t stop kissing them but never wanting to eat them :P
Well, somebody HAD to eat it eventually! ^_^

The kids also spent some time playing at the Kid’s Corner doing sand art and more while Darling and I feast on our dim sums.
We had such a wonderful time here and reluctantly checked-out at 4pm.

So much fun. Clever boy, Ayden. The test of the cupcake is in the eating, what for waste time decorating.
Sighhhhh!!!! How come I never get any free hotel stays? Tsk! Tsk!
I never tried this before, staying in a hotel for vacation in the same city as my home. I suppose this is a good idea, but the concept is foreign to my family. My dad especially, who would think this is a stupid waste of money >.< …
Maybe I'll tempt them with this blog post…
Indeed a nice and thoughtful hotel management, thumbs up!
This is such a good deal for families with young children!
Sound like a great deal!
