Exam woes during the school holidays
With a blink of an eye we are already half way through the two weeks of the school holidays. Our holidays started great with the 4D/3N trip up to Genting but immediately after we got home it was busy, busy and busy for Ethan as he has his Grade 2 Trinity Piano exam on the 4th and Grade 4 Trinity Drum exam on the 10th June! So while other children are playing and enjoying their school holidays, this boy is busy practicing on his piano and drums. To make matters worst, Ethan fell ill shortly before his piano exam. We called up Trinity but was told that it is impossible to postpone his exam and the only choice we have is to sign him up for the next exam which is on year end. Thank goodness though that Ethan managed to recover just the day before to sit for his exam.
Anyway, piano exam is done and over with. It was a family affair nevertheless with all of us being there to give Ethan some moral support.
Darling and Ayden taking a stroll while Ethan is in the exam room.
Today, since it is a public holiday and all of Ethan’s extra activities ie taekwondo and robotics class are also ‘on leave’, I finally have the time to go for my annual hair rebonding session. Unlike last year when Darling can easily take the two boys away to the nearby mall to play in the playground or lepak in the bookstore, this year this Ayden refused to leave the salon. He insisted to be around and wait for me.
So yeah, Darling had to hang around too. They did leave midway though when they got hungry and go for dimsum and was nice enough to tapao a char siew pau for me :)
Four hours later I am all done. We went grocery shopping ..
Ayden’s close encounter with a fish. This is where we buy our fish. Not at the wet market as I can never wake up early enough to go to the market so we have to resort to buying fish from the supermarket -.-
Ethan’s drum exam is this coming Wednesday. He went for his final drum lesson last Friday. When I say final, I meant, final as in the last lesson before his exam day. After his class, we casually spoke to his teacher regarding his exam and asked if he will be there when he answered that he’ll try to make it (which usually means NO). Darling then reconfirmed the exam venue with the teacher only to be told that the exam venue has changed! OMG! I seriously can’t believe it! What if we did not ask and ended up at the old venue on the exam day? I was so pissed! He should have informed us the moment he got the notice of the change of venue but he did not and ended up it slipped his mind. I dread to imagine should we not asked and ended up at the wrong venue, all of Ethan’s effort for the entire year will go down the drain as both venues are of a huge distance from each other. I still can’t get over how careless Ethan’s teacher has been over this matter >_<
Wahhhh!!!! First time see papa dressing up so nicely, like going to get married or what. The white shirt is so white – you memang pandai basuh baju hor! :D
Hope Ethan did well in his exams. Good grief! What kind of deadwood teacher is that??? I know a lot like that, the lost in space kind. So blur!
Hehe. Handsome kan :P
Wah, how can the teacher forgot to inform you the venue chances.
All the best to Ethan.
Glad Ethan get well for the music exam. My girl not in time for ABRSM registration this year so she will only sit for her Grade 2 next year. I thought one exam is more than enough so did not register her for Trinity exam.
Ethan sits for Trinity exams only. He doesnt sit for ABRSM. Last year also back to back piano and drum. This year also. Next year have to think twice dy coz quite hectic for him to practice for both at the same time.
Really glad to hear that you both did reconfirm the drum exam venue else really terrible to be at the wrong place. All the best for Ethan for his drum exam!
aiyo…so irresponsible of the exam organiser. Hope Ethan rock them!!
at first i thought Ayden was looking at a python ular sawa!!! manyak eery lah, only to read that you said they are fish only..
aiyoh, the teacher is so forgetful.. i think you better called him up again on Wednesday two hours before the exam and confirm again the venue of the exam!!!
All the best Ethan!
All the best to Ethan for his drum exam!
Same here, we just back from 3D2N stay at beach hotel, Penang, the girls have to practice drawing/coloring at home, prepare syarahan/ceritam. As when the school reopens, they have drawing and syarahan/cerita competition. Best of luck to Ethan on his drum exam. If I were you, I will let the teacher know that I am upset and I wish that I am informed in advance on all changes in schedule.
