Resipi Cekodok Pisang

It was raining heavily this evening but Darling was out sending his car for service. We were hungry at home with nothing much to eat but a bunch of extremely ripe bananas. I needed to make something fast out of it for tea and the easiest is always the ever so simple Cekodok Pisang or Cucur Pisang.

Petang tadi hujan punya lah lebat. Darling tak de kat rumah. Dia keluar hantar kereta pi servis. Apa lagi, cekodok pisang lah! Cepat, murah dan best sangat-sangat.

Cekodok pisang or cucur pisang. My favourite tea snack.

Resipi Cokodok pisang

The recipe for making cekodok pisang is extremely simple and the ingredients are really cheap. All we need are bananas, sugar, flour, butter and a pinch of salt. I am not too sure if everyone adds butter into their cekodok pisang but I do because that is actually the secret to get a crunchy outer layer but super soft and moist inside.

Bananas
Flour
Butter
Sugar
A pinch of salt
Baking soda

The measurement is agak-agak but I used 4 bananas (I added another one after that photo was taken), half a cup of flour, that much butter (as shown in pic), 2 tablespoon sugar and a pinch of salt.

Add a little baking soda and flour bit by bit until the mixture is not too soft.

Masukkan bikarbonat soda dan tepung gandum sedikit demi sedikit sehingga adunan tidak terlalu lembik.

Heat oil in a wok. Scoop and drop batter slowly into the hot oil. Fry until they are golden and floating.

Panaskan minyak dalam kuali. Masukkan adunan pisang perlahan-lahan. Goreng sehingga keemasan dan terapung.

Place on paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil and serve hot.

Pergh! Sedap beb! Bulan puasa nanti mesti ramai yang tercari-cari nak makan cekodok pisang ni. Tak payah lah susah-susah nak beli. Senang jer nak buat ni :D
