Ang Pow Fish Lantern

I’ve got many requests for this Ang Pow Fish Lantern. I’m not too sure why when there are many more other beautiful lanterns that we can do. Maybe because it is a fish and Chinese people like fish? Makes sense? No? Nevermind. Whatever the reason, it is very simple to make this. So fish it is.

You will need 18 ang pow wrappers for this. Ang means red. You do not necessarily need red actually. You can also use gold wrappers and it will be equally beautiful.

First, fold the top part as shown above to get the middle line. Repeat on the bottom part too.

Next, with the middle line as a guide, fold both ends to the middle as shown above. Repeat on the bottom part as well.

Next, staple that to the body. Your fish has just grown a tail.

Take two angpows and fold them half. Then staple them together as shown above. Make two sets.

And staple onto the body. You now have fins on your fish.

For the mouth, you’ll need the two untouched angpows. Fold them as shown above.

Staple it onto your fish and it now has a pouty lip.

Put a gold string through the fin and it is now ready. You may add googly eyes on your fish too so it can see better :P
