12-pcs CNY Angpow Lantern

You may want to make this beautiful flower lantern..

But you’ll need a whopping 60 pieces of angpow packets for that!

Or you may want to make this equally gorgeous ball lantern

But you’ll still need 30 pieces of angpow packets for that!

What if you only have 12 pieces of angpow to spare? Fret not for you can still make this:

All you need is only 12 pieces of angpow packets and fold all as shown above.

Staple 4 together to make a set.

Staple another 4 to make another set. Set aside the remaining 4 pieces.

Arrange the remaining 4 pieces as shown above and staple to the first set.

This is how the 4 loose pieces should be attached to the first set. Once done, staple the second set to it and it’s done.

As simple as ABC and with the least number of angpow packets too but is equally nice. Make sure you use your nicest angpow packets though as this lantern basically shows off the design of the entire packet with nothing to hide :)

So hard to beg for ang paos these days… Banks not so generous anymore, some places even have sets, very nice, of say 4 or 6…for sale! We pay to advertise for them. Tsk! Tsk!

Nice! This is something my late mom loved to do – I brought her ang pows last year but since she’s gone, there’s no one to make these things anymore.

Yours looks good though and I agree, it’s hard to get ang pows nowadays, it’s given out as gifts for purchases instead of free now.
