Hock Lok Siew Biscuit Trading
On our third day in Penang, we met up with Penang food blogger Ken of Ken Hunts Food. He drove us around for some food hunt and also to buy some local products. He stayed away from those branded shops that are so ‘touristy’ and expensive and brought us to Kedai Biskut Hock Lok Siew in the heart of Georgetown. The products here are way cheaper compared to those tourist trap shops.
HOCK LOK SIEW BISCUIT TRADING
Address: 120, Lebuh Noordin, 10300 Penang, Malaysia.
Contact: 604-2622162, 016-472 4565
No tourist bus here so we can rest assure that we are not paying unnecessary commission or whatever.
As soon as we entered, we see fresh biscuits.
Ken introducing biscuits to Darling. So many types of them that we are at a lost to what to purchase.
I took a peek inside to see them making more biscuits. I am more interested at their Ang Pow lantern hanging above them actually. Haha.
Within minutes, Darling grabbed two bags full of biscuits. We only bought two types of biscuits.
These cute ones.
And these durian biscuits. We bought so many of this durian biscuits because I intended to give them away but I fell in love with them after taking a bite and ended up eating most of them. Yikes. Now I only have about 3 packs to give away. One for my mother, one for my in-law (if it survives before I see them) and another one that will eventually end up in my tummy again >_<
Next time I go Penang, will be sure to go to this biscuit place. Thanks for sharing.
best is when we have a local to bring us around in Penang and show us where and what the locals eat!! i will avoid crowded and touristy places too.. :)
Lol. Better get Ken to buy and courier over to you when you want those durian biscuits.
I want that durian biscuit, Ken please courier to me :P
I believe these biscuits taste better or equally good when compare to those very famous and commercial one in Penang. I think I will like this durian biscuits too.
