Bone & Pot’s Collagen Soup

Collagen is one of the key structural proteins in the body and accounts for one third of total protein in the body. It is primarily found in the skin, bones, tendons, cartilages and blood vessels. Collagen is instrumental in maintaining the structure of the skin, tissues, organs, as well as repairing any damaged tissues.

Collagen is good for our skin. It brightens, firms, moisturizes, nourishes and prevents the formation of wrinkles. The skin is the biggest organ in the human body. 70% of the skin’s dermis layer comprises collagen. The fibrous collagen forms a net-like structure that gives skin its elasticity. Collagen replenishes the nutrients needed by the skin and delivers water to the skin cells to keep them supple and firm, thus allowing the skin to maintain its moisture, resilience, smoothness and natural glow. As such, it has gained an unshakable reputation in the field of healthcare and beauty.

What if somebody told you that there is a new collagen soup in town? I got news that Bone & Pot has expanded their menu to now include “Collagen Soup”. Bone & Pot is famed for their signature steamboat broth base that is made of quality bones and boiled for 8 hours. So when I heard that they have this health and beauty collagen soup, I quickly gathered my vain pot friend to join us to try it out. He is none other than Ethan’s favourite KorKor, XiangCool :P

Bone & Pot new menu Collagen Soup Steamboat

It has been ages since Ethan last met this favourite big bro of his.

Bone & Pot Collagen Soup

Collagen jelly, derived from deep sea marine sources, imported fresh from Japan. You can actually feel the soft suppleness if you lightly press on the jelly.

Heat it up and it will turn into a health and beauty concoction of collagen soup.

I was told that the collagen jelly flown in from Japan is made from the highest quality fish scales. It has an attractive creamy shade and very mild flavours. The collagen soup base is made from fresh pork bones and a secret blend of ingredients cooked for more than 8 hours in fresh chicken stock. The collagen jelly is added once the flavours from the ingredients have been fully extracted and the soup is topped with Chinese herbs including dried red dates and wolfberries.

Bone & Pot Collagen Soup

The collagen soup is priced at RM22 while the rest of the ingredients are at ala carte prices.

These are some of the items that we had:

Bone & Pot Collagen Soup Steamboat Golden Bean Curd

We had two servings of this Golden Bean Curd while waiting for the soup to boil. Crispy on the outside, super soft on the inside.

Collagen Soup

Since we are into health and beauty tonight, the guys decided to pamper me to the max and do all the job leaving me with the simplest task of … eating! ^_^

Bone & Pot sauces

Maybe because I like my steamboat soup to be hot and spicy, I find this Collagen soup to be on the rather mild side but like any other steamboat, it gets better as more ingredients are added and their flavours enhanced the soup. I ate everything dipped in their signature sauces so I’m good. The boys love this collagen soup as they don’t eat spicy stuffs.

By the way, the daily supply of this collagen soup is limited and a one-day advanced booking is required at any Bone & Pot branches. It was nice catching up with Xiang and I like dining here because it is air-conditioned. Alright, that is all for now. I guess I better go get my beauty sleep now. All that collagen will go to waste if I don’t go to bed now as it is already 2 am!
