My Kind of Breakfast

Wanna see what I eat every weekday? Well I say weekday because weekends I tend to relax and eat a totally different kind of food. Actually weekends are for me to let go and indulge in anything and everything I feel like eating (such as nasi lemak, roti canai and the whole works) while weekdays are more of clean eating for me (but not overnight oats). So here’s what you’ll usually see on my breakfast plate:

half boiled eggs

This. How can I not have this? Half boiled eggs in the morning is love! I have this at least twice a week. I don’t usually have them with bread but once in a while okay lah.

As you can see, what I have here are fruits and nuts on its own. Without milk, without overnight oats. OMG I tell you one thing. My Facebook newsfeed is flooded with pictures of overnight oats these days! It’s like zombie apocalypse! One person started it and the rest followed suit and now the entire gang is crazy about it! I for one is not a fan of having something cold and gooey in the morning. I love oats but I have them for tea instead.

I always have walnuts and almond nuts at home. ALWAYS. They are great antioxidants. I have those plain roasted ones. No salt no nothing yet so delicious and addictive. LoL I remember giving my niece a try and she ran far, far away complaining that they are tasteless. Well, to me they are just perfect :P

Fruits (for a boost of vitamins) will be whatever I have in the fridge. My favourite is bananas in the morning to keep me energized till lunch. Seasonal fruits such as mangoes will be based on luck lah. That day I had lots of mangoes from my mom so it was mangoes from Monday to Friday until I turn yellow. Haha!

Raisins. I love raisins! I always have them for breakfast too. Raisins are good for your brain and memory. So in case you find yourself deteriorating into goldfish memory, make sure to pop in more raisins so you can be like an elephant. Not size wise but memory wise lah. An elephant never forget you know. Try telling an elephant it is fat and it will remember you for life! Really. Actually try telling a girl she’s fat and she’ll automatically whack you with her trunk remember you for life too. No help needed in that part of her brain.

I like your 2nd dish. I can’t take the first one because I can only eat eggs that are fully cooked 100%.

  • //

I’d take the first. Eggs are my weakness… ;)

  • //

For breakfast would have mixed nuts, raisins, corn flakes & milk, half boiled eggs occasionally few times in a week and of course not forgetting my favorite sliced bananas. When lazy to go out for dinner two hard boiled eggs, biscuits & fruits will do.

By the way, I can’t help agree with you more for what you said in the last paragraph.

Not bothered with overnight oats. I am forgetful, it I prepare the night before, the next morning I will forget about it and prepare something else for breakfast, and then discover that overnight cup and cry in distress..
