Petrosains Science Festival 2013 – BRINGING SCIENCE ALIVE!

Remember I blogged about learning Physics at Petrosains back in August? Ethan had a scientastic  time (if there’s even such a word!) learning about Physics in ways and approaches I can never think of. If you don’t, here’s the link to refresh your memory.

I remembered when I was in Form Three I was torn between Science and Art stream. I did not know which to take up. I wanted Art but all my other friends chose Science instead. If only I was exposed to Science the way Ethan is today, I know for sure I won’t be in the dilemma I was back then. Back then I was so afraid of Science. To me Science is a huge and difficult subject. I can never make sense of it most probably because the approach we got to understand Science was mostly in theory and not much practical hence the difficulty to grasp the whole concept.

Ethan and the rest of the kids today are lucky as there are places such as Petrosains to help them explore and discover Science at an early age. The way Petrosains does it, Science rocks!

Ethan is already noticing how science plays an important part in our daily life such as how or why wet laundry dries faster under hot and windy condition as compared to rainy days.

Looking at how much Ethan benefited from the Physics Campaign, we are already looking forward for Petrosains’ first ever Science Festival; organized to engage the public and inspire the younger generation in science and raise awareness of the importance of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in line with the nation’s aspiration to produce more professionals in the science and technology industry in the future.

Some of the highlights for the Science Festival include:

* Educational activities and science-related games.

* Forums and talks by scientists and experts.

* Science demonstrations and stage presentations.

* Workshops and activities for teachers and students.

I think it is awesome to intro science to kids atvery early age as science is an everyday thing but most parents fail to imply it when it comes to educating their little one. Early exposure is always good.
This ken…, anyhow everything want to eat ..lol.
