SS2 Goreng Pisang, 1 Utama

Was in 1U last weekend when I spotted this long queue. Long queue means there’s something good, right? Since I was so free that time, I joined the queue too.

Not knowing what I was queuing for initially but then I found out that it was THE much hyped SS2 Goreng Pisang that has been the talk of the town especially in Facebook.

After queuing for about 5 minutes, it was finally my turn to order but nothing looks interesting though. I ended up buying 2 pisang goreng (RM1.60 each or RM3 for 2) and get 1 cucur udang FOC.

I specifically told the lady NOT to cut my pisang goreng and my cucur udang but by the time my box went to the cashier, he told me to wait a minute. I thought he was asking his colleague for the packed chili sauce but noooo… he actually got someone to CUT my bananas and prawn fritters! >_<

So my pisang goreng and cucur udang ended up looking like a mess in a box..

The banana is okay-la, soft, sweet and moist but they are very oily.

Same goes to the cucur udang, oil was dripping from my finger. I should have taken pictures of my oily fingers but I was having such a hard time as it was quite messy already by then to handle my phone camera with the oil trickling down..

I got Darling to try some and he too, find that they are too oily. Dissappointed lah..

Doesn’t seems good to me… my mum bought me goreng pisang with cheese back in labuan. I miss that! :D

    • //

Wow, pisang goreng with cheese! Sounds heavenly… Slurp!

  • //

I like their goreng pisang and also their kuih bakul. Yes very oily so you need to let the oil drip off and soaked by the paper first before eating. Eh, no more buy 2 free 1? How come they cut for you? Maybe a lot of people requested that?

    • //

Ada buy 2 free 1, that’s why I have 3 items there. But why in the world they go n cut the bananas la?! I told them not to cut >_<

  • //

Oh I noticed they give you a box now. And where’s the paper to absorb the oil?

    • //

That’s the thing la! I was wondering too how come no paper.. Oily macam what only. Somemore I was with Ethan, fingers all mess up dy.. Urgh!!!!

  • //

why would they cut the pisang? pisang should never be cut!

    goreng circumcized pisang…

    • //

LoL! Apalah! I oso dunno why they cut la. i dun like it when i opened the box and see them messed up like that. Told them not to cut but they terlebih rajin dy…

  • //

Aiyaa..i am hoping to see the kuih bakul. How come no FOC kuih bakul? Can choose which FOC snack we want?

    • //

I think they’ll give you the least expensive one for free.

  • //

Wow… outside better than this I supposed. Want to try since, but after I read your post, I think I should it back from trying.. @_@

    • //

You should try la. Panda Foong said the pisang goreng nice wat..

  • //

    • //

Hahahahaha Ken!! U rasa sakit ah?!! :P

  • //

The pisang goreng looks sedap lah..I don’t care much bout the oil hehe…if sedap I don’t mind.*so not health concsious*

    • //

U r super slim wing mommy, can afford the extra oil. Me… Hmm… Every drop counts! Lol!

  • //

Wow, now can open shop selling pisang goreng!

    • //

U open one la – Pisang Goreng Simon ^_^

  • //

Same as the curry puffs at Gardens/Mid Valley. So many people buying…but not great at all – or to me, at least. RM2.70 each…and no egg inside. :(

    • //

RM2.70?! I’d rather buy Ikea’s RM1 curry puff anytime! With egg summore, that’s the best in my humble opinion :)

  • //

Aiyooo kesian…. looks like the theory that whenever there are many ppl queue means got something nice is incorrect!!

  • //

Heard of this. They are so famous that they have their own website. Heh.

  • //

Looks good on picture. Wonder why such a long queue if its so so only.

  • //

I’ll check on the frying oil before purchase those fried stuff, so do they have open kitchen for this :P

  • //

You make me imagining eating goreng pisang with perasaan with the title of your post, but alas, I don’t think I wanna try now lah!
