How to wash pillows

Howdy peeps! I’ve ONE question to ask – Do you WASH your pillows?

The weather is extremely hot these days, well at least to ME it IS hot! I sweat each time I take my afternoon nap and sometimes at nights too (even with the air-cond switched ON). Was joking with Darling that I’m experiencing menopause already! >_<

I do wash our pillows periodically. The thing is, I can only fit in ONE pillow at a time in my washing machine. So you can imagine how many cycles I have to do to wash ALL our pillows and bolsters. Darling forbids me to wash them all in a day as he is afraid the washing machine might EXPLODE!!

My pillow is usually the nicer ones while Darling’s and Ethan’s might have a little ‘map’ on it! That’s why I make sure I wash not only the bedsheets and pillow case but the pillows as well!

What about you? Do you wash your pillows and if you do, do you do it like I do? One at a time? Or do you just buy a new one?

I heard we need to use hot water to wash our pillows to dust mites without the need for bleach or other chemicals but I prefer using Vanish :)

We live in a condo where it’s difficult to get direct sunlight. I’d love to wash my pillows but no, not viable in our case. So I just sun them on days when the sun is bright and scorching hot. Love the smell of the sun on the pillows after that :)

Yes, the thing about living in a condo is the difficulty in getting direct sunlight (depending on where your balcony is facing).

We don’t really wash. You hang them to dry or “sterilize” under the hot blazing sun. :D

When I was younger my mom would ‘sterilize’ my mattress under the hot blazing sun after I wet them. Malu nyer :(

yes due to size of washing machine, I only able to wash one pillow at time.

But now I found a self service laundry near my house. Operating from 7am till 12am. I think can give it a try to wash all my pillows in one go. What the best is the shop provide dryer too, so from wet, wash and dry it can be done fast hor.
