How to halve an egg

How do you cut a hard boiled egg in half? You can’t use a wire cutter unless you are planning to slice them into pieces. We can’t use knife as well as it will ruin the egg yolk. So I use what my Mom has been using – thread. I bet many of you do the same right?

Quickly pull a thread through the egg and there you have it, the perfect hard boiled egg in half :)

How to half an egg

Tah-dah! Nicely halved hard boiled egg (okay-lah, not as nice as my Mom’s but still nice lah!) Noticed that my egg yolk is so perfect without bruises? That is because once boiled I quickly dip them in cold water to prevent further residual cooking that will cause the egg yolk to bruise and form a bluish ring around it. I really dislike egg yolks with bluish ring.  I love them to be as yellow as butter :)

Never saw anybody in my house using thread to cut egg before. We all just use knife to cut, lol. As long as it’s edible egg, everybody’s happy lololol XD

Nifty! I usually use a very sharp knife (but you gotta do it while the egg is still very hot or the yolk will spill out).

I think the bruise doesn’t effect the taste of the egg hor…hehe, so perfectionist one ar you :P

I know this method but never try it myself. haha! So lazy to find thread and cut the egg. Easy just use knife. Bruise or ruined egg yolk, I still eat. :p

Aiyooo…so lazy to go and look for a thread. Tali rafia maybe? hehe. Still want to stick to a knife..

Yeah, I have heard of people using thread but lazy me, I prefer to use knife coz it is so much convenient to grab it from the kitchen top rather than go thru my sewing kit, haha!
