Personal Space

I appreciate my personal space in public especially when I’m on the escalator. Whenever I get onto the escalator I’ll always stand two steps behind the person in front of me but in the case of a super crowded escalator such as those in KLCC I’ll just take ONE step back but I’ll never, ever stand NEXT to a stranger on an escalator. To me, that is invasion of privacy.

That is why I get super annoyed when a stranger stands next to me on the escalator. I mean, it’s such a short ‘journey’ why the rush? Can’t you just stand a step behind?

Side track a bit: Talking about escalator, please, please take care of your little ones while standing on the escalator for I’ve witnessed with my very own eyes a little boy’s toe getting caught in the escalator back in 2010. It was heart wrenching to watch him crying in pain and it’s even more painful to see his helpless father’s expression. You can read about it here

So now that you know, in future if you bump into Submerryn on the escalator, please keep your distance for I fart a deadly stench and you’ll just die there, immediately!

escalator

See, I’m at least 2 steps behind. And NO, that is not Darling and Ethan. I’ll NEVER let Ethan go out wearing shoes without socks! That’s another thing I can’t stand, men without socks! Mother of all horrors!

Oh yes me 2, I dun like other stranger stand next to me. Even with friend I won’t stand side by side on the escalator unless with my kids. Will give a walkway for those in rush.

like you I step a few steps away from another human too. Not so much of privacy issue but I have a fear of being squashed by humans:D

Haha! I also don’t stand next to someone on the escalator EXCEPT if I’m rushing and I need to go past him or her. And someone’s blocking my way in front, so no choice LOL!

By the way, those not rushing should stand on the left, while those ‘speeding’ should walk on the right, at least in Malaysia. But I notice Malaysians don’t practise this.

What’s wrong with wearing shoes without socks? Nothing wrong BUT for me personally, I must wear socks cos I don’t like my shoes to absorb all my sweat from my feet! Since I hardly wash my shoes hahaha!
