How was your weekend?
Mine was a fantastic one. It’s always fantastic when I’m back in my parent’s place. The first thing that greeted me upon arrival is the long craved nasi lemak bunga telang with kangkung, anchovies, prawn sambal, boiled egg and cucumber. Urm, actually my niece, my sister and my mom greeted me first but ah well, I was so looking forward to EAT this! Haha.. *aiyaiyai.. now i feel like eating this again*
This nasi lemak set would be PERFECT if the sambal prawn comes with petai but my mom refused to add those in fearing I’ll get wind and hurt my tummy >_<
At night, we proceeded to my eldest uncle’s place (my mom’s eldest brother) to celebrate his 73rd birthday. Strangely enough, I did not take a single picture of the buffet spread nor the birthday boy. Now that I think about it, I don’t know what happened to me that night. It’s so UNLIKE me to NOT capture a single shot! I wasn’t drunk or anything.. how come no pics?! Hmm…
Anyway, the next day, we proceeded to another uncle’s house (my mom’s younger brother) to feast on home-cooked Nyonya Laksa.
It has been ages since I last had Nyonya Laksa and this is DROOL… It is perfect with the addition of that pan mee’s chili flake that my cousin bought. I’m salivating for this already!
We also bought two cakes. One for my uncle and one for my mom who are both celebrating their birthdays this month.
While I was feasting like a queen back in Melaka, Ethan was busy playing combat.
Ethan posing with his current favourite gun.
My Dad bought him some new guns. I guess that will make the total of guns he bought Ethan to 7 or is it 8?! @_@
We had a great, relaxing time in Malacca. Not needing to leave the neighbourhood as the BEST food is easily found at my mom’s and also her siblings’ who lived just next door. The unique part about my Mom’s neighbourhood is that it consists of about 9-10 houses and most of her siblings lived there. All we need to do is just to walk from one house to the other and we are guaranteed something nice to eat at each stop! As my cousin Kymberly would say it, “Sweet! Divine!” Hah! Too much Candy Crush liao! :P
The nyonya laksa looks super yummy.
Nasi lemak also blue kah? I thought nasi kerabu only – I like!!!! Ya…no place like home!
oh i never tried that type of nasi lemak before…. must be sangat la sedap! haha
Home sweet home :) Mum’s home cooked the best…..
Drooling over the laksa, prepare this for us when u learn this, hehe :P
Wow!! Looks so yummy!
The nasi lemak with bunga telang, very special, never try b4. The prawn sambal look so yummy.
Wow! Drooling at the food! Too bad no petai for the nasi lemak! I like Ethan’s posing with the gun : )
Your weekend was indeed fantastic. Blue colour nasi lemak looks good, the Nyonya Laksa too looks great. The herbal tea eggs too look yummy, everything also good.
