How to peel a dragon fruit

Darling and I love fruit juice while Ethan unfortunately doesn’t want to go near it at all :(

We bought a food processor not too long ago that is able to crush ice so we can have ice-blended juice anytime in the comfort of our own home :D

Today we made dragon fruit juice.

From the cactus family, dragon fruit is football-shaped and has a leathery, leafy skin that is deep red or pink. So how do you peel such a fruit?

You can just cut it half and scoop out the flesh.

Or you can just cut it in quarters and peel the skin off. I prefer to scoop out the flesh though.

I like to add some lemon or orange into my dragon fruit juice as it gives the juice a tangy twist.

Add some ice while blending and there, my super smooth ice-blended dragon juice is ready! Super refreshing on a hot, hot day :D

Cheers!

Normally I’ll just scoop it out from the skin. :)

Nice! Yes, my children are like Ethan also. I don’t know why they don’t like the fruit juices that we blend ourselves. They can’t swallow all the fiber, foam and texture is too thick for them I guess.

There is a white meat version of dragon fruit, but i still prefer the red meat one. I prefer to cut it into half and peel off the skin so that i can put the whole fruit into my mouth. *greedy*

I love any fruit juice concoctions but most of the time, I prefer to just eat them. Blending requires too much work. I’m very lazy one… when I think about the washing up part, hmmm no need to juice lah :p
