Our Chap Goh Mei (and Thaipusam) in Genting
We have a long weekend to enjoy this time around, haven’t we? 4 days of continuous break! I wanted to balik kampung but due to the several open houses that we are supposed to attend, we had to stay back in KL. Nevermind-lah, at least I can slave over catch up with housework and spend quality time with family @_@
Today Darling woke up and asked us if we want to go up Genting. Ethan automatically answered, “YES!” I jumped at the opportunity too!
Being aware that it is the eve of Thaipusam and we will need to pass Batu Caves to make our way up Genting, Darling told us that IF it is jam on the road, we’ll turn back and proceed to Plan B. Plan B would probably be shopping or doing more house chores -.-
We got trapped in this horrendous jam approaching Batu Caves. Darling thought he got it all covered with his Plan B and all BUT what he did NOT realised is that THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN MAKE A U-TURN OUT OF HERE! So there we were, being delayed another half an hour or more crawling out of that jam.
It’s the eve of Thaipusam yet the traffic is already at a crawl here in Batu Caves. I dare not imagine what it will be like tomorrow on the actual day of Thaipusam itself in Batu Caves.
Thank goodness, the jam is only until Batu Caves for after that it is all CLEAR!
Finally…
We are HERE at the cool Genting Highlands! Ahhhh BLISS! And then we had to look for parking which proves to be quite a hassle too but luck is on our side as we managed to squeeze our way through into the car park of First World Hotel before it is declared ‘CAR PARK FULL’ as the rest of the other hotels around!
Once we are out of the car park and into the Theme Park, Ethan quickly made a dash to his favourite ride:
It took us 20 minutes of queue time for this. On ordinary weekend it is like less than 5 mins or most of the time, no queue at all. >_<
This is also his favourite ride. He doesn’t need to queue for this as not many kids wanted to ride on it :D
Being Chap Goh Mei today, we get to enjoy several performances too.
Chap Goh Mei Drum Perfformance in Genting Outdoor Theme Park.
Chinese dance…
Even the clowns are dressed in nice Chinese attire :D
For our last ride, Ethan requested for the Monorail. We don’t normally need to queue for this but today, we queue-ed for more than an hour for it! Darling and I wanted to back away so badly but Ethan insisted to have that ride so we waited… and waited.. and after two packets of large Twisties, two Soya Bean drink and ONE hour later, we got into the Monorail..
We caught this Dragon dance performance while being in the Monorail.
Dragon dance performance seen from the monorail. Not only did we caught the Dragon dance while being in the monorail, we caught some sexy guys too!
Such ‘show-off’ in Genting :P They’re sexy and they know it? (^_^)
That sums up our Chap Goh Mei (and even Thaipusam at Batu Caves) this year.
Mental note to myself: NEVER ever go up Genting on a Public Holiday!
thought of going there too,but since it is Public Holiday, I guess, people are more there, so cancel.. Ha ha ha..
NEVER go genting on public holiday ~_~
Though it was crowded and hassle, you caught up a lot of events and performance. It is still worthy after all.
Avoid go Genting at PH.. But d way, next time follow DUKE highway maybe not that Jam..
So happening in Genting!

Eeeeee NO! We don’t like Doraemon. I have nightmares listening to it speak!! >_<
so jam! ;) Glad that u’re still able to find parking over there! hehe!
Seems crowded! Must be a nice respite from the heat here in KL.
Merry, how do you find time to blog?! You must be the most hardworking mommy blogger!

What were they doing with half naked body in such a cooling weather?
Actually, never go ANYWHERE on a public holiday, esp on long weekends like this. We also went to a hill resort and the traffic and crowd were horrible!
Wah really jam, keke luckily no way to U turn else you won’t have chance to see the sexy fatty bodies wahaha
wahhh…u dare to take the risk. I ll never knowing I ll get stuck along the road..ahahhahha.
Your hubby so nice to take you all there. Mine will say no way coz of public holiday.
Aw.. the jam!~
its jam everywhere during holiday but its where the fun is when we are there during a celebration right? Can u imagine how boring these jam places will be if we go there during non holiday season?
