One Happiness Seafood Restaurant

Let’s see, how often do I go to Kepong? Not very unfortunately. Though I live in close proximity with Kepong, I rarely go there but last week, we found ourselves there despite the heavy downpour and all.

Darling almost missed this place but thank goodness I have an extremely good PERISCOPE that I spotted this signboard miles away! Actually it’s not hard to find as it is at the same row with Public Bank Berhad facing the main road.

Pomfret Slice with Crispy Bone

We start off our dinner with this delicious pomfret slice with crispy bone dish. Had the fish slices first and am happy that it is cooked just right and not dry. The celery is delightfully crunchy and as I was enjoying myself with the colourful spread I popped a piece of that crispy bone into my mouth. Ooh lala! It is like eating some sinful snack but in reality it is not. It is just fish bones, nothing sinful in that!

Stew Pork

I’m not much of a porcine fan. If I look at this for sure I’ll say NO but my foodie gang made me go through a blind test. With eyes closed and not knowing what will be popped into my mouth I had a taste of this pork dish. My verdict was I ate something very juicy, tender and extremely flavorful. My nose sensed a tinge of herbs in it. I thought I ate chicken but the soft and melts in my mouth texture defies that. I had to say I love this savory dish and am dying to know what I’ve just eaten. And then I opened my eyes.. @_@

Now I know that some things are better enjoyed blind-folded! And by that I meant food.. FOOD okay? :P

Crusty bread for dipping into stew and polishing up the bowls :D

Special White Curry Prawn

As it was a wet evening that day, I had a slight runny and blocked nose. Runny and blocked at the same time, what irony huh? But when this curry dish was served before us, I smell a strong scent of peppermint! What a delight! It was so inviting, so refreshing! It jolts our senses and I’m wide awake immediately!

Had a taste of it and the light yet creamy curry is delicious. We requested a bowl of steamed rice each to go with this. The peppermint has got to be the vital ingredient here. It really helps to bring out the essence of it all :)

Pork Rib with Blackcurrant Sauce

This dish was presented so good with the grape slices at the side and the butterfly cucumber as garnish. And we thought blackberry jam is only for breads and toasts but here they use it to prepare this hearty meal. I must say that I love the sweet fruity sauce that coats the rib but I find the meat a tad too dry and chewy.

That being said, I chose to have the ribs with the least meat on it as my favourite has always been the white bone. Like a puppy, I love chewing on this and oh boy, this is wonderful :P

Beancurd with crab meat and vege

Served piping hot in a wok, this beancurd dish is easily Ethan’s favourite. In fact, I love it lots too. This will be the dish to order to easily please the palate of the very young and extremely old people :P

Thai style roasted chicken

This dish comes in two part. One is the roasted chicken, another is the chicken salad.

The chicken salad is a bit mild IMHO.

Home fried French Bean

This is a must have when you dine here. It has all the vital ingredients for happiness :D Fresh French bean, succulent prawns, shiitake mushroom and pickled vege, it can’t be better!

Sometimes we might not have lots of time to enjoy a spread of dishes for dinner so what we’ll do is make a quick dash for something fast and easy such as fried noodles and rice.

Fried Mee Hoon

Love the plentiful beansprout in this! I love beansprout and the fact that they fry them just enough to leave them still crunchy is bliss!

Fried Rice

Okay so this is very subjective. It depends on what type of fried rice you prefer. Some like their fried rice to be fluffy while others opt for the very dry and grainy fried rice. If you love your fried rice to be dry and grainy, then this suits you best.

Hong Kong Noodles

Fellow foodie friends raved about this and I find the mushrooms to be the best of the assemble here. I won’t mind if it comes without the crab meat though as it is good enough on its own.

Dessert

The dessert here is so good it makes the perfect ending for the evening. Made of fresh milk with corn and sago, it is not too sweet and very fragrant. Love it!

I find Ethan ‘distracted’ that evening – Not knowing what he ate. Darling feeds, he eats… You know why?

These two ‘budak jahat’ with the iPad2 the entire evening. Sunny spoils him with the endless games in the iPad.. >_<

After dinner…

Dennis brought Ethan and Darling for a ride in his car. Ethan has been admiring Dennis’ car for some time now, only tonight he got a ride in it :D

Look at Ethan’s smile after the ride, priceless! Ethan had a great time tonight playing iPad and getting the ride he has always wanted. It was an enjoyable evening with great company. Looking forward to Sunday already for another round of HAPPINESS!

See you guys there! :D
