TEN MINUTES

The alarm went off. Too sleepy to wake up, I hit the snooze button. The alarm rang again some time later.

Hurried up, fumbled and fell flat face on the floor as my legs were caught in the sheets. Cursing my way to the loo to pee only to slip and fall because somebody left a puddle of water on the floor last night. @#%^!!! Brushed my teeth while nursing the bump at the back of my head.

Ran downstairs to boil water and up again to wake both the little and big one up. The big one got up in an instant at my growl while the little one is still lazying in bed. Tapped his shoulders again to wake him up but still he refused to wake up. The big one is now in the loo while I am in the room ironing his working clothes. It’s running late and by the time I’m done with ironing, temper is flaring.

Raised my voice to wake the little one up and threats were thrown out of anger. He cried when sprayed with cold water to WAKE him.

Everyone rushed to get ready and stormed out of the house. Total silence in the car as all were sulking and anger is still looming…

ON THE OTHER HAND…

Set the alarm clock to go off 10 minutes earlier than the usual time. Did the ironing the night before. Woke-up immediately at the first ring and not let it snooze. Went to the loo, washed my face and down to the kitchen to boil water and prepare breakfast. Went up to wake the big one up and gently kiss the little one, whispering in his ear to wake him up. Tickled him silly when he is too lazy to get up. Laughter filled the room. Bathe and dressed him up and proceeded downstairs for breakfast. Played a little while having our meal.

Raced each other to the car. Sang all the way to school. Exchanged big hugs and kisses as we bid farewell at the school gate.

**********

That is what a mere TEN MINUTES can do to our household. Just TEN MINUTES…

wahahahhaha!! I hate stepping into cold puddle of water right in the cold morning too. Kakak always had the habit of ironing hub's clothes in the morning and once, there was no electricity!!!!! (So you can imagine how mad my hub was when he was running late for work).

Hence I scolded myself for not asking Kakak to complete ironing the night before and now she irons at night while we catch our night movies with the kids (ya..my kids sleeps after 11pm, hehehe)

Luckily all these years my hubby's office has no strict rules on dress code. Smart casual. Collar tees and jeans everyday. Thankful I don't have to iron his clothes!

Oh yes, 10 minutes makes a lot of difference eventually.

I always set my alarm to go off 30minutes earlier than my actual waking up time. But….. I always end up snoozing 10minutes… 10 minutes… 10minutes… er… late already!
