Aphrodisiac
Aphrodisiac. Is that too big a word for you? I can never spell it right less pronounce it correctly. Anyway, an aphrodisiac is a substance that increases sexual desire. Say what?! NOW do I get your attention? Hehe..
Aphrodisiac foods are edible food or drinks that imparts amorous qualities; eating or drinking these food are believed to stir up hormones and gets you in the mood for love.
I was doing a research on food, Indian food to be precise when I came across an interesting fact involving food that is served on Indian wedding night. I was fascinated with one particular ritual involving the bride offering a glass of almond and saffron-infused milk to her husband on their wedding night. I study this further and found that this highly nutricious milk is not only served on the wedding night but a month LEADING to the wedding night! Of course during the month leading to the wedding night, the almond and saffron-infused milk is not served by the bride-to-be but the MOTHER of the groom herself! What’s the purpose of this ritual?
To stimulate the groom’s libido, to improve his level of sexual desire, sexual performance and fertility. In short, to turn him into a TIGER that night. ROAR!!!
My research also reveals a list of aphrodisiac foods:
* Asparagus is said to stir up lust. It contains vitamin E, believed to stimulate sex hormones which contribute to a healthy sex life and increased sexual powers. The folic acid in asparagus is said to boost histamine production necessary for the ability to reach orgasm in both sexes.
* Almond. The aroma is said to stimulate passion in a female.
* Avocado. The shape of the avocado itself associates it with sexuality. The Aztecs called the avocado ahuacuatl, or “testicle tree.” They thought the fruit hanging in pairs on the tree resembled testicles. Anyway, the vitamin B6 contained in the avocado is said to increase male hormone production.
* Banana. Another food connected to sexuality because of its shape. Bananas are loaded with potassium, magnesium and B vitamins. It also contains chelating minerals and the bromeliad enzyme, said to enhance the male libido.
* Basil stimulates the sex drive and boosts fertility
* Chocolate contains chemicals that affect neurotransmitters in the brain, and a substance related to caffeine called theobromine. There are more antioxidants in chocolate than in red wine. Combining the two can be the secret to passion. Now you know why Chocolates are the favourite gifts during Valentine’s Day!

* Figs. An open fig is believed to imitate the female sex organs and is traditionally considered to be a sexual stimulant. Some believes that a man opening a fig and eating it in front of his lover can be a powerful aphrodisiac.

* Oyster. Oysters are most associated with being an aphrodisiac, and most people are aware of their reputation for increasing sexual desire. Oysters may be thought an aphrodisiac because of their high zinc content, which helps produce sperm and increases libido.
* Garlic has chockfull of allicin, an ingredient that will increase blood flow. It is strong which is what exactly will happen to men when they consume it. No wonder I have LOTS of this at home!
I also read this advice, “Be sexy in the kitchen while preparing your gourmet of aphrodisiac foods. When you cook with passion, you will feel passion around you”

Now I know what I’m gonna do with this
