The Love For Macarons
If you have an FB account I’m sure you’ve seen this before..
“All of us have many wishes, to be thinner, to have more money, a new phone, an iPad. A Cancer patient has only one wish- to kick cancer’s ass. I know that 97% of you won’t post this as your status but my friends will be the 3% that do. In honour of someone who is fighting cancer, post this for at least 1 hour.”
Well, there IS something ELSE you can do to aid a cancer patient, cervical cancer patients in particular this time around as La Senza raises funds for cervical cancer with the National Cancer Society of Malaysia.
Imagine yourself pausing in a Parisian sidewalk cafe to enjoy the atmosphere of the most romantic city! In French we say “J’aime la pause café avec un macaron” - I love to pause for coffee with a macaron.
A macaron is a sweet confectionery made with egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. Nathalie’s macarons are filled with fruit purée or premium ganache sandwiched between two shells. Its name is derived from an Italian word “maccarone” or “maccherone”. This word is itself derived from ammaccare, meaning crush or beat, used here in reference to the almond paste which is the principal ingredient.
The macarons at Natalie’s Gourmet has been declared as one of the best in town even by French. You can now enjoy these lovely treats and at the same time help fund raise for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia.
La Senza is lacing on the teal ribbon in support of the awareness and prevention of cervical cancer amongst Malaysian women by raising funds through the sale of Macarons by Natalie’s Gourmet (part of the proceeds go to National Cancer Society Malaysia). The macarons are available (by pre-order only) at all La Senza boutiques in Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley. Online order form is also available at www.teamlasenza.my. From now till 30th May, 2011– RM35 for a box of 6.
Shop for a cause – You can make a difference!
HSBC, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) and MSN Malaysia are the official partners for Team La Senza Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Home is where MY heart is.
Why macarons? There are so many nicer snack out there. The first time I tried macaron from TWG at Singapore, and decided that would be the last time too. Too sweet, some tasted weird, and some actually tasted awful.

Ya…agree with Linda. Too sweet and not a fan but I do know they have a large following – many seem to like them. Not mentioned, but the whole amount 100% of the proceeds will go to the charity? That's good – not like some, you dine there and they donate how many % e.g. to the Japan Earthquake victims. Horrible people. Simply cash in on others' misfortune…
